Why did Conmebol change the referee for the PAR-ARG game?? This is beyond ridiculous ...it's getting more and more obvious, that this copa america is fixed.

Just give the trophpy to Chile already. No point in playing anymore :-/

Do you have the name of the girl in your avatar? Very alluring. The best I get on google is "girl with gun"

Nope, sorry I don't know who the woman is. I've found her in my "random images" folder. It looks like a still from a 50's western, so most probably some lesser known leading lady from that period - hope this will help your quest :)

Been watching Brazil since 94. Before any club, before any other National team, this was the football team that I watched. Seeing them sink to this depth is disheartening at best. It is clear to me that the fault lies in the entire federation, nothing is more shambolic than hiring 2 ex managers who were fired before, both assigned the Brazil team with a very short period of time.

Additionally, I don't think their fixtures were very solid either. They traveled and played matches against teams too far out, and too weak. Teams don't take them seriously, so when they play competitive matches against teams that are far more motivated. http://www1.skysports.com/football/teams/brazil/results/2012-13. It is a for profit federation now.

Then, there is the issue of leadership that has been lacking since the departure of Cafu. This starts with the CBF's Marco Polo De Nero, the corruption and spineless decisions stink, stink stink, just like that spineless piece of shit Menez. They tried bringing in someone who has an authoritarian approach in Dunga and Scolari, but the former is an unlikable person and the latter is expired.

Brazilian managers do not make the grade in Europe either. This is a big problem for Brazil because a lot of their talent plays in Europe but when they come back for the NT, they are coached by inferior managers who do not understand European grade either. Idealism takes over from observation, the rigid 4 5 1 is a failure, outdated, and doesn't suit the pool of talent of Brazil.

Their old approach of scoring 1 more goal doesn't work with the caliber of forwards they have, they just can't expect a player to do what Romario did inside the box, or what Ronaldo did out side it. The magic Ronaldinho brought to the selecao basically extinguished by brute players like Hulk and his likes, or by exporting players EPL and Bundes Liga, as opposed to selling to Holland, Spain, Italy, France, etc. EPL and Bundes Liga are not bad, but Brazilian managers do not even observe these leagues properly or do not filter out the transferable talent. Brazil opted to drop Countinho from Liverpool but consistently play both Willian and Fernandinho, thinking they are destroys, which they are not, because of their work rate. Work rate is not necessarily a Brazilian thing, speed, agility, stamina, dribbling, shooting and passing are. Chelsea destroyed Oscar too, and therefore, killed him for Brazil. Brazil rely on three EPL players that are forced to play a game that is not their own to fit in their European clubs, and want them to play the same way. All three hate the way they play in Europe and are forced to play the same way for Brazil, making their performances absolute crap.

Then there is the lack of self belief in every player, with every pass given to Neymar the pressure on Neymar accumulated, and his frustration grew. No player on the field is actually as confident as Neymar or confident in their own ability to actually make a difference. This is not Brazil, this feels like Wales with the only recognizable player being Bale.

Then the tactical inability of the managers to move beyond the 4 5 1 is shocking. No reinvention, no variety and no plan b. This is bad. Really bad. Brazil are figured out since the first minute.

It was initially meant to be officiated by an Ecuadorian, but they have for whatever reason henceforth passed the responsibility to the brazilian Sandro Ricci. The man who sent off Cavani against Chile. So far he's overseen 2 matches, called 69 fouls, handed out 10 yellows and 2 red cards.

Ota, Messi, Masch and Aguero are a yellow card away from missing the final.

Are you sure cards aren't whiped out at the semi stage like all other major tournaments?

Several things about this post is incorrect.

Under Dunga Coutinho hasn't been dropped. He was injured the first game, subbed in the second and started the rest. Also, he had a very poor tournament.

We don't play a 4-5-1. For the last, 8 years or so it been a variation of 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 which is a difference and neither are out-dated.

The friendly list is wrong. Sure, the CBF schedules some friendlies against some scrubs from time to time for money but it's a South American thing. Argentina, Colombia federation are doing the same thing. Off the top of my head, this year we played Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Japan, Turkey, France, Honduras, Austria, Mexico B, Chile. Mexico B team and Honduras aren't very good but the rest range from average to good.

I wouldn't define Ronaldinho career in Selecao as magic either. He showed promising stuff in his younger days, you could say he was magic in 2002 World Cup and he definitely was magic for Barca but his overall career with the Selecao was in fact average. Most Brazilian I know don't even rank him that high all-time for Brazil.

I agree about our coaches but Zico did some good stuff as a coach for a while in Europe. He might be the only one though. I can't think of anymore. Lux and Leonardo weren't very good. It too soon to tell with Roberto Carlos.

Brazil problem outside the CBF is we got complacent. We have been winning trophies for the last 20 something years playing pragmatic. We didn't think we needed to evolve as we were winning.
