Not bad idea to give Araujo with his pace some minutes on RB considering we are stacked anyway in CB department. Roberto lacks too much pace. Dest is pretty bad either way.

Midfielders need to wake up imo, or we're gonna become a top heavy team again. All danger comes from front 3 combining with each other now. Little to no quality service from midfield in the last third. Gavi and Frenkie need to do a lot more offensively. Or Pedri.

All midfielders were so-so in this preseason. Expect more.

Midfield is our weakest line under Xavi. This preseason also. Maybe the most compact trio was Pedri Nico Kessie that started against Inter Miami. The worst opponent, naturally but had some inner order.

Quality on paper is way above what we're seeing.

Raphinha failed trying to beat two defenders two or three times. MATS did a half pitch pass to Gavi who was well defended and easily picked off, near the end of half Gavi did a long diagonal pass to Lewa also well defended and easily picked off. Didn't see any sequences of short quick build up passing combinations, the one two for Demb's goal was it.

Looks like the transfer window hasn't changed Xavicross much.

Gavi looks better for Spain than he does for us which helps cover up his flaws.

But here he just looks like he does a lot while also doing a lot of nothing with the ball at the same time. Pedri on the other hand has a lot more tools in his belt even when he's having an off game he does quite a bit more than Gavi does.
