Not really he is so overrated that he has become underrated now
Yeah I rate Grealish but he wasn't as amazing as claimed circa 2021, and he isn't as bad as some people think now.

He's pretty good, not amazing, but he has his uses. People point to his stats but his playmaking from wide is generally good for City. Though he does play too safe a lot as everyone knows, but probably an instruction from Pep.

I despise the guy but I do think he's a good player.

The club better forget Nico now. I hate this mentality of guys like Nico and Griezmann that they want to stay one more year and then get their transfer.

They think it is giving something to the club they are staying at (it isn't) but they don't think that it is penalising your future team for a season.

Of course maybe we got this all wrong and the public soap opera is purely that, and there is infact no money for Barca to complete the deal right now.

We will know if an Olmo deal gets completed I guess.

It's frustrating for the club on the receiving end for sure, because at the end of the day he will achieve absolutely nothing with Bilboa next season, while he could win the league with Barcelona and become a much better player.

But from the selling clubs prospective it's good for them, 1 more year to prepare for his departure, we all would have rather Neymar stayed 1 more year, we'd be in a much better position today.

Yeah but who would Bilbao replace him with next year or this year? It doesn't really make a difference regarding their xenophobia.

They already signed the two Basque wingers in Djalo and Villarreal chap. Plus Aimar if Nico left.

So in that regard, a bit different to us.

Mbappe was on the market and while less talented he was way more effective for the job. Neymar was the biggest robbery done by Barcelona, a blessing perfectly timed to buy the next thing after two years of failure with Suarez and Neymar. But somehow we missed Mbappe having 220 something cash and the childrens and amigos made a drama that forced that idiot to spend big to recover face.
Like Laporta wants to spend the last assets on a 5 goals player to save face after the ass whooping in UCL, La Liga. Desperate moves without a strategic thinking.

Bilbao on the other hand fixed a big but decent price and can't use the money outside Vaskonia. 60 mil can't replace Nico with a world class Brazilian youngster for them.
So in their case is reasonable to not want to let Nico go because they aren't on the market.

Why is Xenophobia?
There is not such thing but cherishing their culture and community. And they are right, Baskonia is less than 15% of the original homeland. Navarra gone, Gaskonia gone, parts of Aragon gone. They want to develop their community and it's working.

Watched the full game back..Gerard Martin at LB looked decent.

Good height, athletic and fed some decent balls early balls into midfield.

Not sure he is being considered for first team but performed much better than would have expected.

So far the transfer window looking really bad.

- We probably miss out on Nico
- We probably will spend our entire budget on Olmo, even though we have already 5 offensive midfielders with starting ambitions
- Roque looks like a total bum, if Pau Victor gonna backup Lewy. Another €40m wasted.
- We still have no real DM, so Christensen, Frenkie, Gundogan and some B-side players need to cover that spot for a second season. It sucks hard.
- Lenglet is back and there are no rumours of him leaving so far
- Fati is back and injured again.

Next summer, we'll need to spend on a striker, DM and LW at the very least. This will cost us more than €100m. Probably close to €150-200m. Where the hell does the club want to get the money for it, if they continue to spend everything on the likes of Roque and Olmo.
