I think he's a very strong midfielder which any top team would like to have. Meanwhile you've been deep throating Gavi's hard man act for 2 years now and would probably rather have us give "the future of Barca" a huge contract...vs a player that actually knows how to play midfield instead of running around aimlessly for 90 minutes and touching the ball 3 times in the process.

I'm all for bringing in a dynamic, higher energy, quick, taller defensive option. Gavi ain't that though. Bernal might be, minus the quick.

You want to contend for titles sometime soon? The team includes De Jong then, not Gavi. Otherwise future could be looking bright with Bernal, who showed more like in 4-5 games than Gavi in 2 years.

To be clear: I'm not saying give him a stupid or huge contract, I'm saying I rather spend money on his contract over Gavi or another CM we'd likely bring in cheap who is worse.

Araujo about doubled his salary to allow the club to renew him and still retained control over his own future with clause.

It makes sense for him to sign that if wants to stay as its a better situation than was in previously.. more money and options to leave if still not convinced.

I cant see how FDJ equates to that or they would be able to pay him more money to stay to make a sale easier this summer.

I am sure if they offerd to double his salary and leave a decent clause in he too would do it but impossible.

They complain about FDJ not passing ball forward when he is levels above likes of Bernal on that currently and that is not a slight on Bernal I rate him but he was still learning and nowhere near FDJ on ball and slower.

Haha no a 'fit Gavi' has never been near FDJ level.

Gavi 'won' a friendly tournament...Where he was fucking atrocious in the final but never mind that.

Play that game then.. Ferran has better intl medal haul than Diaz and many others.

Spain were better without Gavi. They improved since WC where with Gavi they only beat Costa Rica and went out to Morocco as Gavi was utterly terrible.

The Dutch at last Euros finished 3rd in their group. Then beat Romania and Turkey. They lost to every decent team they came up against as went out to England.

In previous World Cup...where FDJ went further than Gavi.. they lost on penalties to eventual winners on penalties.

Yup, Bernal needs three years of being behind Frenkie in the pecking order + fighting off Casado and his development. Then eventually surpassing Frenkie (if that happens). Not handed a starting position because he's La Masia and cheap.
