21 - Frenkie de Jong

It's not that he's terrible, just very average. Barely scores or assists, has little defensive awareness and doesn't set the tempo. He presses okay, plays neat, short passes but that's about it. Massively overpaid for his contributions and he's had long enough here now to have shown much more.

More like his fanboys will say he's a top 5 player overall this season in anything we win. when he's more like 11th or 12th and I mean that seriously with no hate

Every single one of our outfield players have been better than him this season and contributed more to any success we have and Tek is Tek.

So he's with casado as the 11th or 12th best player this season.

Pedri/yamal/Raph top 3 how ever you want to split them
Lewa
Martinez
Balde
Cubarsi
Olmo (injuries)
Kounde
Tek
Him/Casado.

I think nobody here will discuss about top4 (pedri, yamal, raphi, lewy), thats 100% safe 💯

He'll be 7th.
Raph, Pedri, Yamal, Lewa, Inigo, Balde.
We can argue if he's better than Cuba, I believe he is, but still.
I think 7th or 8th is an apt spot for him.

You said Cubarsi and olmo, but okay.

You would argue he's been better than Cubarsi this season? I would love to hear that argument, as Cubarsi as been class all season.

Kounde a few bad games, but pretty much the same, he's not missed a single game, he's iron man.

So that leaves Tek if you want to say he's better more important than Tek, I would disagree, but say okay.

If you can only name 2 players Max, then how is ir hate? 😂.

And he's definitely not been better than Cubarsi this season. Or olmo.

But even if I agree that's him being 9th lol

His fanboys will try to squeeze him in the top 5 I guarantee it lol.
He Cinco de Mayo lil bro

Pedri, Yamal, Raph, Balde, Dej

Check out Loki's graph in the Pedriesta thread. Even Pressure's afraid of him. 97%+ passing accuracy, 100% shots on target, 65%+ 1v1 success rate (afair) 🤯

Blimey imma call him Frenkie Altruist from now on!

They asked Flick was it his intention for Frankie to stay as a last man but he didn't really answer. Said they analyzed it and that we needed to keep the ball better.

You can see by the way they play he does not want FDJ marking the CB when Barca are in posession.

Every other scenario when Barca have ball in opposition third he pushes forward and CBs stay back.. unless a CB is pulled out position and nearest player will cover.. both Pedri and FDJ would do that.

For goal kicks/some set pieces it is different as Flick does use FDJ to mark the CF often and has the CBs marking either side and thats where first goal from and FDJ fuck up when both went for ball.

For the second you could say that there should have been better communication between FDJ, Cubarsi and Inigo to get back in shape earlier and CBs picking up the CF.. but 100% Flick in Barca build up where all three of them are free to mark does not want FDJ marking the CF and the CBs either side of him.

100% shots on target is 4 shots total? And passing accuracy of course as he never passes more than 3 feet or forwards.

FDJ has been massively important.. look at where team were before he got back to full fitness an after.

Barca were 7 points off Real and Pedri/Casado as a starting pair have been winning on pitch together in something like 2 of the last 11 games in league.

He literally has the most progressive passing yds of any midfielder in the squad and most passes into final third of anyone in the squad.

Third in squad for progressive passes.

Sixth in team for 'through balls'

FDJ and Pedri dominate the forward passing and progressing the ball stats from the midfielders.

Agree to disagree.
I believe he and Cuba are having a similar season. Cuba was class and better than Inigo early season, come Nov-Dec he has dropped his level, still better than Araujo, but you dont see those line-breaking passes anymore like before.
Kounde has moved down since fatigue probably set in, guy's have been having pretty bad games recently.
Tek is having a lot of errors these days, and frankly, after a decade of terrorists on the goal, any half decent GK looks world-class. LOL
And Ohlno barely stays fit to be considered in this list. Guys is world-class, but can't string 5 games being fit.

Usual... it will be 'FDJ has not been that important and all these others have carried the team'.

Yet if Barca lose it will all be about FDJ and not about how these other players who are so much better did not continue to 'carry' him.

Can see it a mile off.

If these 9/10 other players are so much more important than no worries. They can show it from here on in and take the blame if their level has dropped and dont win.

Yes, third this and sixth that for an 80 odd million pound player on £340,000 per week.
11 CL games, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 through balls. Better in La Liga granted, but nothing earth shattering. Not terrible, just average at this level. I'm reading Man City are gearing up for a huge bid for Pedri. I bet we couldn't give them FDJ.

Moving goal posts..

He is literally one of most progressive passers in the team as shown.

Playing as most defensive midfielder also.

Just made the only quality pass forward v Dortmund for Koundes chance. Better pass than any through ball anyone made that game.
