Would be amazing if Gavi could even ever have a 'purple patch'.

Never mind lads only a year or so away from when the 'La Masia talent who is better than Pedri' arrives.

Casados month or so long 'purple patch' ended months ago.. him and Gavi been utterly awful these past weeks and most of time prior to turn of year also.

Neither have been "utterly awful". Stop making shite up.

You got a hard on just because Frankie had a solid patch in few weeks against opposition that can't string 3 passes.

Class performance but a shit opponent. Not like he didn't perform against Bayern and Madrid though but just needs to keep it up. Seems to be back and we finally have a midfield depth. Casado, Frenkie, Pedri, Gavi all at a top level now.

Good stuff. Keep it on. Hope Cassado learns and gets his spot back. But we need experience during the crucial moments of the season, ie; March onwards.
Cassado lacks that, and Frankie doesn't.

Controversial opinion, I would like him to play like this, so we can sell him next summer for big bucks. We need Striker position filled and we need money for that.

In my eyes he is playing at the level he has always been playing at, neither better or worse. Really don't get the dramatic arc of fan sentiment towards him.

At one point his entire history with us had been retroactively rewritten as some sort of massive drawn out failure. In reality, his story is that he has been a pretty solid midfielder with some minor dips and peaks who said yes to a big salary.

This guy gets it.

Solid/good midfielder is what he was is and will always be.

Agreed.

Let's remember even Eric looked good next to Pedri at the beginning of the season.

I think a lot of players benefit from the system and look like better players than they actually are at CB (bar Cubarsi), CM (bar Pedri) and CF.

Eric never looked great he passed as ok is about it and as an option in injury hit team is there.

Flick wanting club to push to renew him as sees him as key piece is least surprising news of the day.

Sell Casado in summer.. wouldnt get much but can try. While renewing FDJ would ease FFP a bit.

Still probably best for him to leave though. Would have no shortage of top options.
