21 - Frenkie de Jong

How does he his future look, anyone with any insight, is he comitted, is Barca comitted, if so why does he not play more minutes?

It's not rocket science, he's just not good enough to bench our other midfielders. I'm not his hater, I don't think he did anything wrong with his contract but if you look at the pitch we have better, younger, more suited to Flick's style and a lot cheaper players. Next year even Bernal is coming for him. I don't think Flick likes his style of play, it's totally against his fast direct style.

On the other hand he'll probably be a starter soon when the injuries pile up again.

He has 6 months to prove himself, but the first thing he needs to do is fix his attitude.

As of now, he should be shipped off in the summer.

I am glad he was visibly upset with whistles yesterday. If this doesn't wake him up nothing will. Furthermore, as of now he is nothing more than a rotation player, so it's up to him if he will turn that around or not. If he continues like this, and Bernal returns from injury he will have no choice but to leave.

Imagine if someone told us before the start of the season that Casado will outperform him so easily. No one would think that's even possible and now when FDJ comes on the pitch instead of Casado or Pedri it's like when Fati or Torres come in instead of Yamal or Raphinha. The intensity of the pressing immediately disappears and our game slows down. I am really curious to see if he will be able to turn this around.

Most talented midfielder in the Barca squad but let's be honest: Barca don't need him anymore. He's a luxury player for Barca.

All in all, another L for JamDav. 😂

Sport isn't reporting the news, just pointing to the fact that he was the last midfielder to enter the game yesterday.
I think Frenkie is clearly first option, as Pedri sub

Pablo Torre ahead is just lunacy. FDJ is levels above that guy.

True that Pablo is not ahead of him.
Sport exaggerated

But it's true at the same time that he is behind all of Casado, Pedri, Gavi right now for the deep md position...
At least 2 of them have to be out in order for Frenkie to start an important game.
Mark this...
He will be rotating them vs the Las Palmas of this world

Strange though, dont you think that he was MotM with his National team and gets 4 minutes here.? I mean Pedri is on another level at the moment but even he needs a rest when we are in full control of the game

Hansi Flick believed in De Jong - until now.
Fermin, Gavi, Casado, Pedri, Olmo, and Pablo Torre are all ahead of him in the packing order. —

This is such a strange blurb, so he did believe in him when he didnt play and was injured and now all of a sudden coming of a great performance with his National team, he does not? does it even say why? sensationalism, dont believe it
