Honestly Never rated him like some here, He's been very poor since the world cup. Expecting a lot more from a 60m signing even though played out of position.

He played like 2 games at CB, steady on. Difficult to gain rhythm when you are playing out of position all season long. He's much better at CB than what he's shown, but is worse than Christensen and Araujo

If we do find a RB, Araujo-Christensen are clear starters at CB.. can we really afford the luxury of having Kounde as backup? Not gonna shit on Xavi or Laporta for signing him as I'm not sure many saw Christensen being anything more than squad depth when he first signed.

Yes because competition is great and they can play a back three with them if they have to or want to.

Here we go again. What luxury? You need at least 3 top class CBs + a good 4th CB. Makeshift CB or crap options like Garcia don't belong at a top club.
Didn't we have a discussion about squad value importance? Kounde and Raphinha should be kept even if they won't be clear starters. Or else you're always gonna be an 3-4 injuries away of being extremely vulnerable.
Bayern have an 80m back up CB in De Ligt no?
This whole type of discussion of signing starters only and neglecting the rest of the players are gonna bring huge troubles. You need 15-16 players that can step in at any point vs a team like Bayern or United and deliver the good stuff. Not Bellerins, Alonsos and Garcias, freebies that nobody wants.

Christensen definitely added more than most thought he could, which has also helped to keep Kounde at RB combined with basically no other option there lol.
If we get a RB, I think he's more talented, well talented is the wrong word, Christensen is as talented as they come at CB, a bit better suited to the modern game at CB & will eventually beat Christensen out.
But it's a good problem to have 3 CB who you can trust completely.

Especially considering that all 3 get injured on a frequent basis. All have been injured this season in key games, and will probably be in the future as well.
What we should do is sell Garcia and Alonso and bring in another CB on low money that has experience and can accept a sub role without issues. Do that, and sign a RB, keep Alba, and defense is sorted for the near future.
Sign Gundogan on low money in midfield, and focus on attack full on after that.
