I don't know about De Ligt coz I haven't watched him in Bayern but Upa was nowhere near as overhyped as Kounde is/was.

Only on short term though.
Kounde removes around 10M per year for next 4 years, that is beside his wage.
Christensen gets us a good boost now, but not on long term.

Nobody is going to pay 90m for him. 60-70m max. And yes Christensen is better but not necessarily worth more in the market. Could be that Chris goes more under the radar and that Kounde is a flashier name.
Fully understandable if he wants to leave because he plays in wrong position. It's a mental feeling that you know you can do better and develop more but you're hindered by playing in the wrong position. Maybe he feels he has more potential and that it's being wasted. Have to remember tho it's not a formal transfer request and that it'll take a bit of convincing from another club to get him to leave.

So sell Kounde and then what? Christensen, Araujo and Inigo Martinez are all injury prone or at least cannot stay healthy for 10 consecutive games without some issue.
If Kounde want to leave because he want to play CB and they can profit from it then sure I don't mind it, however you have to then spend a considerable amount of money on a proper replacement with a similar profile, quick and athletic and knowing us that won't happen.
I'd rather not have to watch Eric Garcia and fucking Marcos Alonso at CB in possible key games because the aforementioned trio gets injured,

Swapping out Kounde for Inigo Martinez would be disastrous. Barca continuing to gut its depth. We already know what the defense looks like when there are injuries and rotations, and Garcia and Alonso are CB starters. Not pretty.
