He has always been quoted in the market as one of the most technical CPs in European soccer.
Obviously, it is more difficult for a specialized center back to play on the flank. Ok, sell Kounde, who will you bring in?

No one with an ounce of a clue thinks Kounde has ever been one of the most technical defenders.
He goes from moments of top technique to pure amatuer level moments every game near enough.
Do the stats lie? Name me 1-2 other top club and top league defenders who have played more than 20 games in a season and have better numbers vs dribbling.

There is barely a top LW dribbler in La Liga and he backs off far too much as gets done too easily.
Lets a lot of balls into box.
Not a top 1v1 player or close.
Open the analytical notes that date back to when he played at Bordeaux and Sevilla. Open it. Okay, maybe I don't know soccer. These analysts don't either?

We have played 2 games against Real Madrid and a game against Athletic, where top left wingers play. How many times has he beaten them on the dribble? How many times has he stepped in off the dribble in those matches? Give me examples from those games where he for example unnecessarily dropped back.

Same Real who in his time at club has not been trusted to play RB against often as poor 1v1.
