A very frustrating performance. The same goes for Yamal. Both were poor in the second half, with heavy first touches and wasted promising chances. He probably needs a rest, but unfortunately, there’s no clear alternative to replace him

Well taken. His only blunder was aiming for the tight angle where keeper was closer rather than oppposite angle. It did not help that it was his weaker foot too.

You are right, maybe with a cut back there could have been a better outcome, we can't say now (because Betis defenders were also very close to him to limit this option) but definitely a cross would have been most wasteful decision in that situation.

Such a shame he didn't score that. Completely owned the defender with that feint, but the shot was not good enough... would have been a great week for him if he burried that chance.

I think, overall, he has been over performing as he doesn't really have classic skillets for a RB that spends most of his time on opposition half.
Acceleration, technique, dribbling, passing. It's not really there.

It's really a compliment for him to overperform like this.

One thing he does have over Balde is being able to navigate out of press easier as he is capable of using both legs. Whereas Balde when closed down often buckles but, granted, does save himself with speed.
