24 - Eric García

He's just as useless as present day Pique against any opposition of quality to be honest. They only thing he can do is spray a pass.

Not really, he looked good when he played alongside actual defenders at start of the season not with Pique or Alonso.

Exactly. That's his level. Sub at best. Never starter.

Was never brought to be a starter tbh. And in ideal world when everyone healthy he's our 4th choice CB which he's good enough for.

Won't happen as we'll want to cash on him but abilities wise if we could get his head straight on again (eliminate mental mistakes) I'd probably take Lenglet over Eric for that role though.

But both are better than sign someone like Inigo Martinez on a 3-year contract. I don't actually dislike Inigo and think he had a good last season but would get exposed playing with a high line. And after our past experience I'm in no business giving 30+ years old players (Inigo will turn 32 at end of this season) more than 1-2 year contracts which I doubt he'd accept.

Not a single minute in the World Cup by a coach who was one of his biggest supporters.

For all the optimism we had early in the season, he has shown he is nowhere close to top level yet.

Would hope we will be able to cut something for him in the summer.

Why not keep him as a rotational option? Doesn't earn a lot and he's more than capable against most Liga teams.

In reality team would have been better with Rodri in DM and any of the benched CBs playing.

Garcia is fine as an option for now. More pressing needs than that.

Spain were better with Garcia. Not because of Garcia but during that period they played with more speed and intensity.

Which makes him one of the few transferable players in the squad.
He is still fairly young (22 in a month) and is a "home grown " in EPL.
Chad Riad or another FA might be cheap to ger, and we could potentially get some funds from selling him to reinforce the squad.

Since Spain crashed out of the world cup and generally performed poorly, we shouldn't take the coaches squad selections as proof of Players' quality or lack of.
They would probably be better with Garcia playing in defense and Rodri in midfield in place of the relic.
Garcia is certainly not that bad, his issues are easy mistakes in the box and some times he goes too light when marking good players.
