It's incredible how Flick has found a role for him in midfield where he's both being useful and at the same time pretty invisible over the course of a game. He works quietly and if there are games you haven't noticed him, then he's done well.

He is of course a weakness in our midfield but most teams in Liga don't have the quality to properly exploit that.

Flick system protects the CDM player and allow them to just keep it simple.

Casado, Eric and even Bernal before them. None of them were asked to do too much, which made them able to do the job well. Groetzka at Bayern too, and he was awful after him.

This is unlike Xavi, who asks too much from the CDM and he essentially make him the key piece in the team.

Cubarsi should have started ahead of him.

Was not his worst game. But his passing was off. And the team really needed someone who can move the ball accurately into tight spaces.

He played two great disguised balls to Kounde. Inigo was the one with trash passing today.
