we on the other hand need as much people as we can get, and I'd rather sign a top class player for 50m (which none of these teams have big for those two) than 40 and these two, especially verms

Why did PSG not even try?

Man City are signing Mangala for around 40m and Chelsea have more than enough funds to pay 40/50m for a defender if they thought they were enough of an upgrade. Chelseas defence is not that great.

Those players are not out of reach to pay 40/50m for any of the clubs that were looking for CBs.

Why should Barca 'over bid' for those players if can get a functioning defence for less and with player that allow a more flexible formation?

Man City have chosen a defender that suits their system ahead of Benatia/Hummels? Maybe that is Barcas thinking also then.

Chelse have a 'functioning defence' and dont have to 'over bid' for Bentia or Hummels? In that case Barca can forget about over bidding if they can buy a functioning defence for less. Which is what they have tried to do.

You put up excuses about other clubs not wanting to over pay 40/50m for Benatia/Hummels as it doesnt suit their system or have a functioning defence. But for Barca you almost demand they pay 40/50m for these players regardless.

I think you guys can't see the good part, we're actually starting to have a legit defense.
We don't need the best defense, we never had the best defensive line-up anyway. These players ( Thomas, Jeremy ) aren't the best, but they're way better in a line-up that what we lined up till now, not to mention games when we had to improvise.
We rate them in a way, but I think they can both be our best 2 central defenders if we look at Pique, wonder where we would rate him if he was playing at Valencia or Arsenal and he would be on our transfer list.
We just need defenders, and as long as they're in good form, I believe we fixed our problem of not having one at all, we can finally stop sweating all game thinking of what happens on an average counter by the other team while Messi, Neymar and more newly Suarez pack their team around their box.
Of course, it would've been ideal to have a Mats Hummels but I don't think it's 100% necessary we need the best of the best to achieve something these following seasons.

And Agger? Please no, never liked the rumors, plus, I think 15m quid is OK for Thomas, we actually took advantage of another club trying to transfer one, we hijacked a player after another club was the one making pressures for it's current club to let go.
