Injured for the entirety of the first season, then scores an own goal and gets a red card on his debut in the second season Plays a few games and gets injured again and gets sent out on loan to Middlesbrough. 17 million euros or so for 9 apps.

Can't beat that.

I get the feeling Arsene Wenger keeps a copy of the invoice of Vermaelen's transfer in his wallet for whenever he's having a bad day. He probably needs to just take a cheeky peak at how much we shelled out for him to turn any frown upside down....

Having said that, I want him to recover soon. Not that it would make any difference to our team though as Bartra is a lot better than him and even he barely gets a game under Lucho.
