For fuck sake a normal header from the edge of the six yard box straight at the goalkeeper is not a difficult safe.

Szczesny times his steps so that he is caught mid-air when the header is made. When he is back on the ground and ready to make his jump, the ball is already floating in above his head.

Timing your steps so that you are charged to jump at the moment the ball reaches the crowd is pretty basic stuff. You have to be either incompetent or unconcentrated to mess it up as badly as Szczesny did.

And yes, Araujo also fucked up. That's not an excuse for Szczesny to fall asleep.

Yeah probably. But spirit of fairness compels me to admit Ter Stegen would've been lynched for this either way.

Don't blame him at all... it's 90% on Araujo and one of those balls that make the goalkeeper look stupid.
Yeah just one of those unsavable headers that come straight at the keeper at average speed. So impossible to save. Especially for a 195cm goalkeeper.

It's not really an error, its just one of those that you expect your keeper to save sometimes.

Those kinds of headers go in regularly and are also saved regularly, but sometimes they will, I wouldn't put it down as a black mark against him.

Actually, mistiming your steps on a corner so that you have no time to react to a potential header is an error.

Just like in Afghanistan the terrorists win in the end... There is too much talk about his return, I think it's happening. Goodbye Champions League
