Balde's renewal is done. He received several powerful offers, but has turned them down as he is happy at Barça and with his role in Xavi's starting eleven.

Need to work on his crossing big time the he will be heading towards a complete full back.

Too often teams are happy to narrow up their defence and leave him space wider when know cant deliver it with consistency.

Big fan of him and fine that he gets many minutes to develop. He gets a bit overplayed to my taste though. A rest here and there to keep him on his toes and give him bit competition for his spot wouldn't hurt him. Same accounts to Gavi imo.

True, imo he was at his best during midseason. Got trusted too late for my liking, then did amazing, then as he became undispited starter, his performances started to decline a bit.

Ideally, he shouldn't be clear starter, but he will be, so I hope he will be up for it next season. Still a good player but with problems in defense and lacking a final pass but we can work with his speed, he has clear qualities and plays with confidence. Plenty to like and support going forward.

Perhaps you can get someone like Grimaldo to apply pressure and keep Balde honest, with Alba and Alonso leaving next season.

I don't see a host of big clubs looking for a LB. Well apart from Chelsea, coz fuck it, if they spend 600m to be 12th, maybe they can spend 900m to come 6th.

But they will probably go for someone like Caleb Wiley rather than Grimace.

So Balde's getting lazy, needs motivation to perform and not waste every pass rather than his linking skills are shit? Rose colored self-administered koolaid?

His ball control is really good. Rarely loses the ball when he receives a pass under pressure.

By comparison, Jordi didn’t really show his promise until he was 20. Balde has all the tools, just needs to develop them along with wisdom of when & how to take advantage of them against opponents

Immense future for the kid
