3 - Alejandro Balde

Second season syndrome, happens to most young players, defense adapts to them, then they adapt back.

People were shitting on gavi last season for the same thing, now he's either good or great whenever he's player in his correct position.

He was ok today and stopped the pace of Real for most part.

Going forward it is unfair to expect him to be an isolated threat out wide as is so often.

That is never a set up he has played in and he is about constant, relentless runs into final third not being asked to put balls in from deep or front up opposition players and beat them.

Be better off having a pacey dribbling option at LW and asking Balde to be defensive full back like Ake at this rate.

Folk who made out Gavi was top notch last season and other folk picking on him..now claim he was not as good as made out and had 'second season syndrome'.

Usual.

Folk who were 'shitting' on Gavi and pointing out how much his level had dropped in those games were correct.

Gavi is far from 'good to great' every game.

Has not been great last few for Barca or anywhere near level of Pedri/FDJ.

Neither know how to combine with anyone in final third, always been that way and leaves LF to fend for himself. Fati, now Felix, doesn't matter who you bring in Mitoma, Kvara they're fucked before starting.

He's a great talent but he really needs some coaching in offensive terms.
His pace in 1v1s is predictable and his crossing is alarmingly inaccurate.

Adds nothing to our offense. Moronic by Xavi to make him focal point of attack on Lw. Needs to be defensive and let others make things happen on the wings. Like I said earlier his dribbling is piss poor but more than anything his decision making and intelligence is zero. He blindly crosses without even looking up.

Only partially blame him he's just a kid. Xavi should know better.

At some point he was starting to get gud, was proactive, beat his man and even made some good crosses and square passes, assisting. What went wrong? He become timid and less dynamic this season. He never uses his incredible pace anymore to gain advantage, what was his main trump. Xavis coaching or his own problems?

Mentioned him in Xavi thread.

Destroyed team's energy coming off the bench with 3 wrong passes inside of 10 minutes in the 70th minutes. Girona controlled the ball in those minutes and killed our flow. Terrible performance. Is it mental or professional, I don't know.
