He got lucky today, but the luck will run out eventually. Playing with Gerard Martin basically means playing with 10.

You cannot rely on him to be good in either attack, in defence or in possession vs. any half decent player/team.

I doubt very much that Valle, Fort or Torrents would be so bad, Flick didn't handle the LB sitution well this season and it could cost us trophies.

I think he'll play Martin all the time until Balde is back but I would try else, there are many options if you don't look to narrow. Gavi, Araujo, Eric, Torrents or Fort could do a better job there.

Someone else has to. Not much time to try some other options until Inter. Don't want to see this guy playing vs Mallorca. If he can't even hold his own vs Celta... then he's cooked vs Inter.

Can't see Christensen making a season debut at LB and then play a Clasico Copa final days later. I'm 99% Flick will stick with Martin.

The biggest mistake about this situation isn't happening these days or next Saturday, it was made last summer when Flick prefered Martin instead of Valle, Fort or someone else from La Masia (Torrents?).

An unpopular opinion.
I think he is still salvageable. He just needs some confidence push from both coaches and other colleagues.

I will rather move Kounde to the left back and play Araujo as a RB than play Christensen on that position.

Yeah hard to tell, Inigo was near that LB zone, but with Eric for Cubarsi I believe we switched to 3 men defence in chase of the 4th goal.

Anyway Inigo is not the wingback profile, nor is Gerard. Gerard is this outdated defensive left back that is clueless what to do with the ball in attack - pass back or cross. Zero vision. Dortmund utilized his area as the weakest link, so did Celta today. I hope Balde recovers for Inter Milan game in 10 days.
