He's good. Just not as good as some portray as if he's guaranteed to have a good game against the man he marks. Another player in mold of VVD or Varane, more injury prone too. I like him but he ain't all that.

The biggest joke is people expecting players to be more than just very good. That's all you hope for mostly, and what 99% of the gifted players end up as. Araujo is a solid player. Could feature in any current CL winning team. Whatever downsides he has, those should be covered by the rest of the team.

It's not his fault that current Barca lacks those resources. Very happy with him overall. Clearly he's been working on his passing range as well this season. Good job.

I rank him slightly above Militao, another very good CB who flyes a bit under the radar. Both are top 5 CBs currently in my book.

Christensen, Araujo, Kounde is one solid CB trio that's for sure. Those 3 should not be touched in any way. The CBs, De Jong, Gavi, Balde + Dembele and Pedri if they manage to stay fit are the best players 7-8 players we have by a distance.

We need to build the team around them. A starting RB + a starting LW, plus a top 9 and 2-3 good bench players is what we should aspire to sign in the last 2-3 years. And maybe in 3-4 years we could win another CL.
