Mbappe danced around both Kounde and Araujo during the Supercopa.

should definitely take 70m and run.

but Juventus cannot afford 70m now or during the summer.

It's not about being scared of competition. Apparently the club had promised him a contract before where he'd be the best paid defender which would double his salary, and now the offer is way less.

Easy to say club should just offer more but seems others are more prioritized, like Pedri, Gavi and of course Cubarsi, Bernal and Yamal. Would need to get rid of Frenkie and Ansu but seems that money would be spent on other positions instead.

Don't understand who the hell convinced him to join Juve though, and why he's so desperate to do it now. He should realistically have more options in summer. 5th in Serie A, no WC players, not a WC coach with pull. Just seems a huge mistake from his side. Suarez better give him a call and tell him grass not always greener.

He is throwing his career away because of some money?? Well, if he really wants to leave and destroy his own career we shouldnt stop him 🚑

I'm trying to look at it from his pov. Money is one thing but don't think he'll become a billionaire at Juve either way.

His plan as I see it could be:
1. Join Juve asap. Become an undisputed starter (he'd be the star of that team at age 26)
2. Play regularly and go into WC26 in top shape (he'll be 27 then)
3. Hope that some top club can convince Juve to sell either then or the year after, at age 28 clubs might start turning their heads with his injury history however
4. Get that last big ass contract as top defender competing for league and CL titles

Perhaps the reason he wants to join now is that staying 18 months compared to 12 makes Juve more likely to sell in future. But there's no way that Juve's "project" can convince him long term.

I think 50+ million would be a good price for him with 1,5 years left but i don’t know how we want to play in Defence without him. With cubarsi and garcia? When is christensen fit again?

If he leaves, which looks likely after his expressions when Lewa told him to stay, I would use the funds and salary space to bring a starting rb, move kounde to cb paired with Cuba. In 5 weeks, when Inigo is back, you'd still have 4 solid options for CB: Cuba, Kounde, Stensen, Inigo. I just don't know who that starting RB would be in this winter market.

Juve isn't that kind of club to sell a player one year later if the offer isn't absurd. If he goes there he has to plan to at least stay till 29-30 in Italy. And with 30 and his injury history, no top club will offer him a huge contract anymore. And if he stays often injured, it's guaranteed.
I also don't see the reason for him joining Juventus. Maybe he has good friends there? It seems to me, that he doesn't really connect in our team to any player outside the training/games. Maybe he's like Gundogan, just don't feel good living in Barcelona. It happens.
Maybe he was always a Serie A fan as a defender and had a dream to play there. There can be several reasons. Money is surely not the only reason he wants to go to Juventus, as they're even more broke than we are.

That said, I don't see the club giving him the green light in the winter without a huge offer like 70m+ with Inigo's injury. Kounde finally feels good as RB, to start rotating him to CB during the hot phase of the season is a big risk I'm not sure Flick is willing to take.

Or maybe Laporta is offering a shit contract (while giving huge contracts to anybody else, I'm sure he's offering Tah more than Araujo which in crazy) and Juve is the only one who is willing to give him what he wants (while lowballing Barca of course).

Hope he stays until the end of the season and plays so well that Laporta gives him a contract he deserves.

Remember that he was excellent against Madrid because we reverted to a defensive shape with 10 men which suits his style more.

In possession we were way more limited out the back and SuperCubarsi was pressured into playing more of his incredible line breakers.

With that said, hope to see Araujo stay because I always liked him. But he is playing 50% of the minutes because of injuries while Tah would be fit for 100%, then squad wise there is only one option.

History suggests though that Inigo will have more injury issues this second half season. So best Araujo stays so we don't get a sniff of Flat Eric at the back.

Motta obviously. Our former player who never really made it here (also competition/injuries) but eventually ended up having s solid career with Inter and PSG.

Why he'd want to leave so badly? I don't buy the Inigo - Cubarsi story.

Despite his injury issues it's such a stupid move to try to get rid of him only to rely on Inigo which isn't young anymore and go for somebody like Tah who isn't proven here.

Probably not the reason, but the Old Lady has a rich modern history of Uruguayan players there.

That coupled with higher tax incentized wages, undisputed starter and being at one of Italy's top clubs under a good manager with very high potential wouldn't make this the worst move.

It just ain't Barca though is it.
