4 - Ronald Araújo

Pique used to do these hand raises very frequently, like every game. Annoying af.

It's such a bad habit, especially like the situation yesterday where Araujo acts like he has full control when in truth he has no idea what's going on behind his back.

He's not a kid anymore. At 26 he should be in his prime.

He still has the same major weaknesses he did when he first joined Barca A. Very inadequate on the ball and bad positioning.

If we are going to play this defensive tactic, you need brains even more than athleticism. As Cruyff said, when you start running earlier than other players do, you appear faster.

An offside trap is about brains first, then athleticism. It doesn't matter how fast you are if you can never read the game situation properly. Can we expect him to improve the weakness he has shown for 6 years now?

Still gonna give him till end season to get to his peak.

Big Dick had a bad season a few years back at Pool after injuries, before returning to his best.

Joe will take a bit to get to fully match fit and adjusted to Flicks demands, which are miles from Xaviball.

It was very common back in the day when there was no var and you needed to influence referees.
Araujo started his first team career in Europe in the VAR era, this shouldn't happen

Ronald Araújo’s new contract still includes a €1 billion release clause, but for the first 10 days of July, it drops to €70 million. From July 11th onward, it returns to €1 billion.
@Luis_F_Rojo

It's a good deal, if true. Even if he wants to leave in the summer, Barca would never have gotten €70m for him with just one year of contract remaining.

He plays within himself. It is not the same Uruguayo as before his injury. The criticism from the PSG red card and his injuries has led him to be more cautious, less aggressive and more passive.

It is what I feared. We have taken the animal instinct out of the gorilla. Had they done the same to Ramos he would have been regarded as no better than Harry Maguire.

What is left is a shell of a Uruguayo. A travesty. We must take him as he was, with all his faults as well. Because that is when he is at his best.

You have the choice, an amazing defender who will make the odd clanger, or a passive player who is constantly looking for the linesman to defend for him and is no good to anyone.

What we have to do is take the first good form he will have and sell for a good fee. He will fit much better in a defensive side. Man can't even give routine passes without the teammate having to make some lateral or backward steps to control the ball. There's being shite on the ball, then mediocre, decent, good, very good, and world class. He is shite. Straight up 3/10.
