Oh shit.

We’ve struck gold with him.

So in his first season out of Barca B he's basically not only the best CB in La Liga, but also quite possibly the world.

Huh.

My opinion hasnt changed of him. Will commit the occasional mistake as he walks the road towards greatness.

Of course. He's heavily exposed in this team and has to carry a huge load defensively. Even van Dijk has his fair share of mistakes.

He looked tired yesterday but kept on fighting as the only defensive minded player in the team. In dire need of rest.

Looks very good though. I wouldn't sell even if any team hypothetically offered 60m.

Could have had a hat trick yesterday. Crazy the amount of chances he got on the end of. When he does score, it will be all business and no dancing (Mina).

He's absolutely great at getting onto the end of crosses but his heading technique has to be improved

2nd time I have seen him be too careless like that on the ball allowing Kenedy to get the best of him when he was so exposed - that's not the time to be casual in possession, although you could also argue it was a bad ball from Umtiti too to leave him with little margin for error

Give him a rest on the weekend. He has played a lot lately.

I agree he could use a rest but he's just too irepleacable for us right now. He has played all 750 minutes in our last 7 games (incuding four extra times) since he was last rested in the league game against Granada on January 9th.

I'd play him against Betis and in Copa semifinal next week but then give him a rest at home against Alaves three days before the PSG game alongside Messi, FDJ, Pedri, Griezmann, Alba and some other starters.

I think we should think about rotating at least 1-2 players each game until the PSG game. With 5 subs it should be enough rest for everyone. Instead of doing it heavily against Alaves. Semis are two legged so there's a bit more breathing room in the Copa as well.

Lack of rest is heavily due to us not being able to kill games off early.

He really needs to sharpen up on getting ball out his feet quicker when under even slightest pressure.

Positions himself in way he is getting caught far too often with ball stuck under him.

When given time to get ball out feet and look up his passing and his choices have become a bit more positive but looks clumsy and nervous often when pressured as takes a touch.

If he works hard as it looks like, he will definitely overcome his bad habits.

But the big teams this season (imagine Pep) will target him on the press as our weak link.

If Larsson is as good at training others to header as he was then Araujo will be a big danger for set pieces. You can already see his movement in the attacking box is excellent.

I don't think he'll improve his calmness with the ball. If anything, it's that he learns and understands his weaknesses. To not try to feint the attacker like he tried to do yesterday when he got dispossessed. And rather hand over the reigns to first free teammate rather than trying to make a productive pass.

His teammates should also learn to not hit a 50/50 ball to Araujo like they would to Frenkie, Lenglet, or Busquets for example.

I'm totally fine with him not being "Barca standard" when it comes to ball control. It's good enough for me, thanks to his with his immense defending skills.

So basically we only find out about these gems because there was literally no first player to start.

So basically we only find out about these gems because there was literally no first player to start.

Araujo was promoted to the first team last summer and the club rejected a 10M bid of K?ln back in 2019. Guess he was always part of the plan, otherwise the club would've sold him for a good price. That's the ideal way to go. Scouting them, signing and playing them in the B team and promoting them once they prove to be ready or needed in the first team.

Pimienta did a great job with developing Araujo.
