4 - Ronald Araújo

That's how twitter accounts pass on news from the same source:

@Barca_buzz:

(ARAUJO): There is a meeting planned with Araujo’s agents either next week or the following, regarding the player's contract renewal. Deco, has recently spoken with Araujo to reiterate the club’s interest in renewing his contract and to encourage him to respond to the offer. Barca’s priority is to keep him, but if he doesn’t want to renew, they will ask him to bring in a substantial transfer fee, around €100m, next summer. They do not want to see him leave for free. The club suspects Araujo's agents may prefer he leaves as a free agent in 2026 and might not have fully conveyed Barcelona's offer to him. Therefore, Barca wants Araujo to take charge of the decision and hopes for a response sooner rather than later. Via:

@BarcaTimes:

BREAKING: The board has noticed more positive reactions from Araujo and his entourage regarding his renewal. Flick and his team performances have been key in this. Deco spoke to the player to respond to the offer. Araujo is more inclined to renewing. [

I don't think he is going to have a future here for much longer, which is something I could never had even imagined saying last season.

Our defensive tactic and particularly the offside trap/high line requires very precise coordination and I don't think he's capable of it over the much more tactically astute Inigo and Cubarsi pairing. He'll probably be a sub when he comes back.

He is so athletic, but with his tactical ability, there is no way Flick will trust him to start in this team.

The scheme doesn't fit him at all sadly. He is too undisciplined tactically.

He will be a great CB for another team, though, and we should require a high fee for him to sell him, as he is one of, if not the best, 1v1 defender in the world.

We'll see how long this version of offside trap will last though. Like everything in football sooner or later it gets found out.

Iñigo also at the age that you can't really count on his form long term, even months away. There is a place for Araujo in the XI imo. Maybe not this year but he'll be eased into it anyway so it's not a problem until January/February anyway.

You make a good point. Things change constantly in football, and maybe we drop this tactic later and then there's a place for him.

I mean everyone can improve, but he so far hasn't had the right head to be a world class defender in big games, you can't go in like Rambo.
Good attackers want exactly that to happen. Just like Ter Stegen and Frenkie, doesn't live up to the hype for me.

Injured too often.

People really have to chill with this IQ non sense.

They would have said the same about balde before this season or even kounde, and none have been at fault for breaking the trap so far.

His passing will be the only issue
