6 - Gavi

The Pale One
Some people are just born with it

He gives the same feeling that Puyol did when he's out on the pitch. Through his courage, tenacity, spirit he effectively becomes the heart of the team.

It's contagious.

Wonder if he'll have the same dawg in him after the injury
I think there is no fear for that. Gavi will always fight. He'll probably start slower after such a long time on the sidelines, but given his character, I expect him to jump between the ball and opponent's legs head first again rather sooner than later.
He already pushes to play and the club needs to calm him down.

He's now competing with Pedri for a starting spot, with flick dropping Pedri deeper, at least on paper, it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

But I don't see him being a regular starter until around jan/Feb.

He can also give Raphinha rest in certain games. Gavi can play LW and score goals as he showed under Xavi. He has a different profile than the usual winger, but Gavi can be the free variable in Flick's system for many positions.

If he's already healthy wait until Sevilla anyway, there is no chance Gavi will be careful when he gets back, better to give him more time. The last thing we want is a new injury.

He has "underdog that made it" mentality. He is always going to have that fire. It might be something to be worried about just from him pushing so hard after an ACL. Could lead to another injury.

This will be a good thing. Gavi at the AM spot with Raphinha at LW could be disgusting on the press so maybe Flick just plugs him anywhere he can. Pedri needs a rest? Gavi plays deeper. Olmo is tired? Play Gavi at AM. Raphinha needs rest? Gavi go chase people on LW. Pedri and Olmo injured which happens every year? Ok Gavi pick a spot.

He will be gunning for that Casado spot. If Casado and Gavi prove they can hold the spot, then it gives us an out to sell Frenkie next summer.
