6 - Gavi

I feel like Gavi has been perfectly fine out there in limited minutes. I would even say it won't be long and he might replace Casado low key. People will be mad but Casado is falling out of form

Don't see him replacing casado, doesn't do what casado does.

No one in the team does really, but he has been fine in the minutes played, improving every game.

Casado though just needs a rest, which is why de Jong needs to get his shit together.

I can see Flick using him alongside Pedri and Casado as a midfield 3. Olmo is very injury prone and won't be available for nearly half the games.

No way in hell he replaces Casado long term with his positional unawareness.

He is a wild card midfielder and very useful when playing an agressive opponent. But he doesn't do the little things like Casado does. I think he is a sub for either Pedri or Olmo at this point.

Yes, he isn't a DM. I can see him developing into the midfield general archetype similar to a Kante, Keane, Gattuso, etc.

He doesn't have the positional discipline or defensive awareness to be a DM/number 6/anchor midfielder. He's an all action midfield enforcer like the names I mentioned above. He doesn't screen or shield the back 4. He charges, chases and presses wherever the ball is. He needs a Casado/Bernal kinda profile alongside him as the 6.

Playing with a 10 as we do now, both pivots need to be positionally responsible. One is not enough. The only way I really see Gavi working is in a classic three-man midfield to be honest.
