6 - Gavi

If you can get wirtz and as a result have to sell olmo, fermin or even gavi...you would have to seriously consider it.

Wirtz is probably the best 10 in the world atm.

He's young so no rush plus raphina is playing well anyway. But in a year or so, getting one of Wirtz or Musiala should be priority over Nico/Leao.

Every club in world would take Wirtz before Gavi other than Barca... but Barca have a huge number of fans that rate thse player and the club would be too scared to make the correct decision.

You know I am right.

What is Gavis best position in this team?

Nah, ignoring all the points being made.
Gave you a perfect example of Gavi drawing out Tchouameni (I believe) which directly made space for our goal and you bring up Gomes, who, ironically, is closest profile to de Jong of all Barca former players in last decade.

Thanx

Aye Gomes decoy runs.. all AM will have instances of that unless they stand still.

Good luck if you think Gavi is a AM of quality due to 'decoy runs'.

Think he went on a decoy run for Atalanta goal to be fair. His off the ball movement opened up space magnificently for Ederson.

Nah not a strawman.. quite telling the Gavi fan boys dont like that comparison when used to be all over it.

I wasn't. Won't ignore your other question either (eventhough your poor Gomes stuff or Wirtz strawman).

Gavi's position is not set. As a rotation player it is his strength that he can play in any midfield position + LW (obviously Balde overlapping).

Frenkie, with his salary, can only stay as a starter. And what is his position in first 11? He can't defend, DM is out. Doesn't have the ability of Pedri so that's out too.
He's an expensive car in your garage with no actual use. Or a parade horse like I describe it.

All our players press. Most of them just as hard as Gavi. The difference is Gavi provides nothing else, just rash tackles.

Those saying his out of position pressing has led to goals. Sure they have, but they lead to more goals and chances against us than for us, so it's more of an L than a W.

His tough man act doesn't do it for me. We got players who press but provide many other things as well. He needs to show something else or I'm afraid he's just as overrated as I've been saying for 3 seasons now. I want to see it, but I do not.

Somewhere in the center as an agent of chaos 💥 lil'Chihuahua is really a pit bull terrier so best scenario use for him is when we're leading and our players running out of juice or fight ie Pool 2nd Leg to avoid remontada. Bite 'em legs and kill d clock 🎳

Technically, not on the same level as likes of Olmo, López, Dej, Pedro. More similar to Vidal but ladder could jump higher 🪜 thx to his cool mohawk

We are too invested in the La Masia sentiment so we would never do that but I agree, we would be a much better team without Gavi/Olmo/Fermin and with Wirtz/Musiala. That's not the only problem, even if we would sell one of them I don't think we would get a big transfer fee. All 3 are overrated on this forum, not many clubs would offer big money for any of them.

On paper we have the number 10 position well covered but in reality Olmo never plays, Pedri is much better at CM, Gavi/FDJ aren't creative enough and Fermin isn't consistent.

Wirtz for 80-100 instead of Olmo for 60m would have been the move.

Ends up cheaper per game because he is more available.

Gavi doesn't come into the equation. He is your typical hard working youth talent that you never really need to sell as he can slot in pretty much everywhere and do a job.

Besides, no one would buy him for big money other than Luis Enrique, and I doubt PSG would bankroll a huge Barcelona cash move considering our Super League support and Mia's position in UEFA.

Musiala will also be avaliable for similar money, Xavi Simons went for similar money today... There were many options but we decided that 10 games/season Olmo in the best bet.

I don't think Olmo ever really had other big offers and I have no idea how much we could get for Gavi. Not much.
