Strange that the club?s management would pursue an expensive transfer if they hadn?t already secured the funding. FC Spontanous!

Don't know why, but I have this feeling we're gonna send Dest the other way and make it happen that way, probably gonna be something like 30M+Dest in the end, gonna be a win-win, we'll be able to afford it, and it will match City's valuation of Ferran. I'm not necessarily against this, as I consider Dest far from indispensable, but I just don't know where that leaves us for that RB spot...amazing how we still haven't worked that out ever since Alves left...and came back 5 years later, and we're still no closer to finding that replacement.

I do fear that if Dest goes in January, that will almost certainly mean we'll be extending Roberto, which we really shouldn't do, even if we get rid of Dest in January. Roberto will be out at least until March or April because of his injury anyway, so he won't be in the team regardless, and there's no point in prolonging his career here, as he'll be even more useless from next season forward, when he'll be pushing into his 30s. Better to just play Mingueza in the 2nd half of the season there, or just play a 3-4-3 formation. And then get two new RBs in the summer, one young gun (don't know who though), and the other can/should be Azpi for free, he'd be perfect actually, since he can also cover CB and is also used to playing in a 3-4-3 formation.

As for Dest, I'm guessing Pep will use him sporadically to rest Walker, if he'll impress enough, he might become a starter for them, if not, I see City selling him on for profit in 2-3 years time, to Bayern or something. Ever since Bayern showed interest in Dest the same time we did, I always imagined Dest ending up with them at some point in his career.

The shortage at City is the No. 9. So when Pep refers to ‘it depends on many, many things’ one wonders what deals are taking place.

Ignorance must be bliss because NYers are never going to grow up dreaming to play for City, far more likely to dream of Barca

Would City really want Dest?

Kyle Walker started out strong under Pep but he has long been an area to improve upon which was the main reason Cancelo was brought in, that and the fact that he could play on either flank. Even with a felon like Mendy, City are ok at LB - RB is absolutely an area they will need to upgrade apart from a goalscorer. So, yes Dest would be interesting since Couto remains a longterm project who likely won't arrive at City before Pep leaves

Dest is not even remotely close to being an upgrade on Walker. The only argument I can see for signing him is that Walker is 31 and they might want to plan ahead. Even so, I think they can do better than Dest.
