His problem is his mentality. He thinks too much of himself and that he can succeed at Barca. It sounds like a mentality you need to become the best but in reality he needs to reset, take a step back and establish himself at a lower tier club like Juve or Newcastle or even worse.

Leaving Barca for a worse club will feel like a defeat for him, but he'll never succeed here anyway. Shame he keeps getting called up to Spain because he probably takes it as a sign that he's doing well, which is also why he won't consider leaving at the moment unfortunately.
