7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

The vast majority fans support Coutinho and all Barca wearing players who put in a shift. Yes those that don't, paying or not, are being sucky fans, and Messi called them out in a much more polite way--which you responded as "I don't give a "f*ck about Messi's message". What were you on about, "drivel"? I don't need to be diplomatic to plastics more appropriate to white wearing entitled pricks, rather than claiming to be part of "more than a club". If Coutinho goal wasn't a big goal you could not tell from the look on Messi and Suarez's face. But I guess the Barca players faces, words and expression don't matter compared to a few minority in the stands who boo their team's players because they could do so much better if they were handed some boots and a knockoff Barca shirt.

Coutinho’s goal against Man U was beautiful, but it wasn’t a big/important goal. 150 minutes out of the 180 were already played and the score was 3-0 aggregate. Coutinho has been trying his trademark long range shot 5 times per game since September 2018. In April 2019 he finally managed to get one inside. He has been playing bad for 3/4 of current season despite being given unlimited number of chances by EV. He’s been slightly criticized but it was nothing compared to what Dembele (a younger and already better player) has been through with Spanish media.

Coutinho is one dumb dude. Who the fuck does such a celebration after months and months of pitiful displays ? If anything, Coutinho himself started a war with Camp Nou and Barça fans. Not only did he celebrate in a controversial way, he also insulted the fans !

What did he think ? That he can shit on the field and still get applauded ? This is Barça, boy. Not Espanyol. Here you perform world class or you get criticized, then eventually you get the fuck out of this club if you can’t embrace the pressure.

Even fucking Messi the absolute GOAT of this sport has been criticized in 2013-2014, when he was in the baddest form of his career. And that’s fucking Messi, who already had won 3 CL and plenty Ligas at that time, as well as 4 Ballon d’Or. Who the fuck is Coutinho in comparison and what did he achieve at this club atm ? He can go fuck him self with his long range shot that didn’t change anything in that leg against MU.

I had nothing against the guy before that. I was just saying that he’s playing like shit when he really was playing like shit. This is facts not critics.

Messi is a good guy and a good captain, it’s his job to defend teammates and I agree that now is not the moment to create problems inside the club, we’re a the feet of a potential treble and all the Barcelonistas should stick together and support the team. But that’s because we love Barça, not because Coutinho doesn’t deserve to be bashed.

In fact, Coutinho should be the first to leave in the summer.

Messi politely told yall and the minority whiney fans to stfu. Yeah yall are right, he is wrong. Booing a player or team not trying hard is fine, booing out of form but effort is counterproductive, as the goat mist diplomatically and simply explained. And in truth coutinho has been an important and contributing player here, messi knows it, valvede knows it, MOST fans know it. Be good if those MOST fans show up those with a stick up their you whats.

I say this as one perfectly fine with selling him to bring in a better fitting piece.

Finally just bc the spanish media was outlandish on dembele doesnt mean fans should turn on any player. MOST fans dont.

Blind support is idiotic in every facet of life, this includes football.

If fans are doing things to decrease the home advantage and counter productive to their club winning they are the fair weather, plastic, type. Supporting the team and players through a rough patch (and again Coutinho has been good and contributing player most of his season and half--really was only really bad a few months in the fall) ins't being a blind fan, that is being a committed fan . If fans are more interested in their petty whines, jealousies and personal griveences than contributing to club success they are certainly not worthy of being part of a "more than a club" fanbase. I expect that out of Real fans and United fans, not Barca fans.

A portion of the fans on Camp Nou have penalized him for that bad celebration. That's all. He has to deal with the pressure at the really big clubs.

i agree CL semi final isn't the best place to voice their criticism but i also cant really blame them. I love Messi as much as the next cule, an honourable gesture from him BUT to play here and stay here it must be on merit, not being buddies with Leo and Suarez.. please don't tell me we have to waste another season of not only Barca's LW but also Coutinho's career by shoehorning him in the lineup. its best for all parties if we sell this summer, get Griezmann and we should be good for 2 years.

I don't hate Coutinho before you call me a hater and i was hyped with his signing but the board really fucked up thinking hes an Iniesta replacement, a huge fail. recoup 100mil from a PL team, buy Sane a true LW who looks to be leaving City

anyways lets hope the fans get behind the team, win this treble then we can talk about sales

He barely 'contributes', he fucking deserves all he sick he gets with his attitude for most of the season, are you forgetting the celebration after scoring a single goal against an already defeated united? It was pathetic considering how long everyone put up with him, lets also not forget much we paid for him and how much he earns... The players are accountable to the fans without fans there is no club.

I agree thats he's actually trying now but he's still doesn't offer anywhere near enough. Dembele faces substantially more criticism yet has directly earned us points and gotten us through difficult ties compared to him. I'm pretty sure Coutinho and Piques attacking stats this season are eerily similar... that's how much Coutinho is 'contributing'...

More then a club doesn't mean what you think it means.

I totally agree with you. I think Coutinho out to finance Griezmann or another top winger/striker who can operate in different positions than PC and/or can spell Suarez, is the smart move.

Again Messi thinks it is counter-productive to the team goals. If fans can't check themselves when the best Barca player ever and the player responsible for the best Barca achievements says they should, they got issues and they are not much a fan in my book. Its clear the GOAT thinks that too--maybe he knows better what is good for the teams persuit of historical success than a vocal minority of whistlers. I am sure those whistlers are plenty replaceable, and not a significant portion of Barca's global revenue.

Difficult ties? Coutinho has been far more of a factor this spring--3 classicos, CL elimination stage matches, Atletico. Dembele was brilliant this fall. But over the course of the 2 years that hasn't been where Barca was won/lost trophies. I am not saying this to knock Dembele--but he hasn't been in form and fit in the most critical times yet. Personally I think fans and media crit have not helped either one. Not that media are necc fans of the club where their interests are club success, but good fans are supposed to help create of home advantage and support to help players get form and life.

He barely 'contributes'...

He is 3rd in goal production since he joined Barca. Until Dembele gets healthy and in form he clearly is one of our 3 best attacking players.

If you want more complex metrics (and they average per minute) you will find him among the top 3, top 5, in most offensive metrics. He absolutely is a contributing player. Does mean he is a great fit for the team or playing worth the 3rd highest wage and 160 transfer fee, no, but contributing and important to our treble pursuits--absolutely.

Hopefully Abramovich swoops in with a reasonable offer

If used for griezmann or another proven player we think a better fit, sure. But unless that other high goal scoring winger or striker is there, keep him. All depended on a 1st rate better fitting player ready to join.
