This deal if it ever happens, Will be at the last week of the month, After the second leg of CL qualifiers at 23rd of august.
It could happen earlier if liverpool get a very favorable result in august 15th, But i extremely doubt that, Hoffenheim are very tough team, And the first leg is in their stadium.

Any CL caliber team should be able to breeze past Hoffenheim, tough or not...

You do not understand. There is no 'overpaying' for Coutinho. Even if Barcelona bid 250 million Euros, Liverpool will not sell. Why? Because Liverpool have their heart fixed on not selling. And when the nooses tighten on Liverpool's board, they will not take any risk. Hence, Liverpool will by absolution reject A.N.Y. P.R.I.C.E. Overpaying is impossible.

Surely they have to see the players point of view ??

Klopp obviously likes Couthinho and wants him to stay but I can't see him standing in the way of Coutinho's once in a lifetime dream move to Barca , challenge for the CL and play with the best player ever ..Busqs :)

So what did the great board achieve in this transfer window?!

They lost a key player in Moneymar (I am glad that he is gone) and let him troll them until the middle of the transfer window.
Chased players who were not for sale in Verrati and Coutinho while available Players like Bernardo Silva have been taken by other Clubs.
All players they wanted to get rid off (Arda, Douglas, Vermaelen, Munir,..) are still there there except Mathieu who went for free.
Offers for those players are either loan deals or very low prices.
A player like Mascherano who is a bad defender and not good enough for the midfield is still here and collecting his big pay check.

So they are horrible at marketing and selling players and just as bad at agreeing deals with clubs and buying players.
Barto and his board are just incompetent and shouldnt be running a great club like FC Barcelona.

If this fails then get Seri. That leaves plenty of money for ousmane dembele. Dortmund have sold better players for reasonable prices before to direct rivals, don't know why they are playing hardball all of a sudden.

All of them had clauses on their contracts. Dembele doesn't have.

btw, l don't think Dortmund or Monaco are Bayern and PSG's direct rivals. just because Dortmund is happy with 3rd, Same goes for Monaco. yet, Rasenball Lepizig is a strong rival for Bayern anymore.

i'm soooo over this summer though... We've only bought Semedo? are we that broke?? Real madrid have won back to back UCL and they stole La Liga from us this past year...we haven't done squat... we only won the cup.. flip this around in madrid's shoes... lets say we won back to back, real madrid would be
buying the world...

Real madrid have won UCL 3x the past 4 years.. ridiculous... we need to act and buy... we have to get coutinho and Dembele.. We just have to.. if Moneymar hadn't left we stilll would have bought talents so why is it more difficult now that he's gone.... we have more money...

This transfer window has been a massive failure for us. They planned to get veratti but they did nt plan any alternatives in case we hit a dead end with PSG. We should have lined up Coutinho earlier in the window just in case the veratti move went South. We moved too slow. I think we can expect another bid from the board. They know they need to respond or else there'll be political consequences.

i totally got on the Verratti hope hype train  but alot of people here said it's a dead end chase at the start of this summer. imo the board did have a plan b.. but it was an ugly one in Paulinho. i guess they dropped that i can imagine the outrage if we announced his signing :rofl1:

They were tough, not anymore. just because they didn't sign any good players except Gnabry.

222m€ has come from Neymar
and we should buy both Coutinho(110m€) and Dembele(90m€) is equal to 200m€
we have to show our power

Our main fault this summer was wasting our time with Verratti but we moved on from him relatively quickly and we've made our first offer for Coutinho around July 15. People inside the club got some signs Neymar was thinking about leaving (but they didn't knew he already decided 100000% to leave and was just waiting for his money) and I believe they tried to sign Coutinho to keep Neymar but also because he'd improve our team. Also, his versatility would offer us a possibility to play Coutinho in midfield if Neymar would stay or use him as LW if Ney would leave (of course we could still go after Dembele now but we'd be in a much better position if we'd already signed Coutinho before Neymar left). So going for Coutinho seemed understandable from both perspectives.

But then the US tour happened which Neymar used for his personal promotion (while waiting for his money) and our board (and players) were wasting their time to try and convince him to stay. Those are two precious weeks for negotiations with other clubs/players we've lost and I blame only Neymar for that. If he'd make his intentions clear to the board then they would have time to start negotiating for his possible replacements already during US tour if not before that.

IIRC our first offer for Coutinho was around 70+10M which Liverpool of course rejected but it was a good starting offer at that time. If Neymar wouldn't happen we could continue to negotiate with Liverpool and got Cou for around 90-100M with bonuses around July 20-25. Of course there are no guarantees Liverpool would really sell him for that money but our chances would be much higher than now after cashing in 222M and with 2-3 weeks less to negotiate.

Not to mention that we could have sealed the deal before Lallana got injured.

the funniest thing is,they said that coutinho was planned before neymar sale,so 222m we got is intended for dembele and other players, not coutinho

ok but we have to buy him as well cause iniesta is 33 years old and getting oftenly injured so we should replace Coutinho instead of Iniesta as well
