Liverpool need a defender but the way they defend set pieces is worse than sum of players they have.

No fucker even jumped for first goal from corner.

They plough too many men forward as well.

For what the EPL lacks in terms of some techincal quality it is the worst league going to be getting caught on break and poor at set pieces. Virtually all the mid table teams down are strong in those areas.

The way I see it, kloppe has bigger problems than Phil. They should make Van Dijk and somebody like Fabinho or Matuidi a priority.

Is there a reason why Liverpool don't sign a striker?

Sturridge does not count.

They have Firmino, Origi and Sturridge.

Other positions needed more.

Their bench today is fucking awful and their GK and back four are average at best and left exposed.

Sturridge can't be relied on because of his injuries and Firmino and Origi's scoring numbers leave a lot to be desired.

The absence of an actual 9 on their team is baffling.

Sturridge still comes off the bench and cane make a difference and gets minutes when fit so have to count him.

Klopp doesnt seem to want a number 9 Firmino plays more like a false nine to set up wide players coming into the space left.

Liverpools wide players are more where they are set up to get goals from than CF.

Their front line is about one area of team that is strong.

I'm not saying his performances will dip because he doesn't want to stay. At the end of the day, it's a World Cup year and he has to earn his place in Tite's squad. What I'm saying is he's not committed and doesn't want to stay at the club any longer. Kloppo has always stressed about wanting players who are 100% committed to his project and in this instance keeping him doesn't make sense. There's more cons to keeping him than Pros. Alot of fans on their forums are already denouncing him and his 'mysterious' injury. The situation with Veratti is different. We're talking about PSG here. Money talks. They just bought Neymar FFS.

Which means long term they should probably sell, but after the season has started when they have no replacement? That makes no sense to me.

The Lad wants out and is prepared to put up a fight. Anyone who still thinks his 'back injury' is legit is seriously deluded, just like Van Dijk's sudden mysterious illness. We'll just have to see how things pan out behind the scenes. The way i see it, Pool have bigger problems short term that fighting to keep Cou. They need a defender or two and a holding midfielder. Watford made their defense look pretty ordinary for huge spells and the front three bailed them out.

At some point now Liverpool must realize that the longer they wait to get this done, the more it hurts them. There's not much time left in the transfer window, so their best bet is to get this over with and get cracking with patching up the holes that needs patching while there is still time.

Stuff always moves very quickly the last day(s) of the window, where one transfer sets off a domino effect of subsequent transfers, so there will always be opportunities to get good replacements if they are ready and vigilant. Keeping this status quo going is only hurting both parties.

Klopp has to do more work at set pieces. They're probably worse than us. Matip and Lovren are a goal waiting to happen.
