Where have you been ???

The world has changed after the Neymar transfer .... English championship sides are paying £15 million for players that I've never even heard of and will never see play !!

Spurs just paid £45 million for a young , inexperienced , unproven Columbian CB !!
You mean you don't know Davidson Sanchez?

I Really reel bad for this kid. He wants to come to us, but our Board is too inept to negotiate and close the deal.
I totally disagree.

His club just doesn't want to sell and has had the common sense not to have a stupid release clause. Everything I've read says that he'd have been allowed to leave if this had come earlier.

Very very poor planning from the board.

the message on the shirt though. Is it for liverpool ? If he meant that, that is super smart :D

Indeed. Clever message. Another great way to endear yourself even more to the Liverpool supporters when you don't get sold this window. The man's a genius both on AND off the field. He's clearly worth double the amount being quoted in the papers.

Liverpool have let Barcelona know that there's no point bidding £138m for Philippe Coutinho because they want £150m fix plus Addons ( if they were to sell him). ( The Times)

I actually read that they told them that it would be pointless bidding further for him as they would reject even a £150m bid.

when someone quotes the price that would be rejected, thats an indication of price that could be accepted. Why quote 150m when they could have said 1000m instead or no figure at all.

But realizing the amount of figures quoted, i am inclined towards evaluating if 250m odd fixed amounts quoted for dembele and coutinho are worth it. Yes we are so desperate that the clubs are actually taking advantage of our situation and the money we have.

I would rather evaluate our all possible alternatives. This amount can really have a very long term massive impact on us if we could spend wisely in infrastruce, scouting and making investments in potential 18-19 years old and loaning them out for a couple of years. I am sure many gems are there which would cost millions in two years time.

Dilemma.

Well we could paraphrase or translate it however we want, but its still an insane amount of money in any case. There is no way in hell Barca would pay £150m fixed with further clauses for just about anyone right now(a couple of obvious ones excluded, of course).

and i somewhat agree that we should consider not paying this amount. We could've done smart business and had bought 2-3 impactful player who actually would've added to team dynamics instead.

But that time is lost due to clear reasons. So there is a dilemma, should we overpay and lose this amount of money because we mismanaged multiple deals and had 0 planning. Dilemma.
