Liverpool nor BVB are any bit greedy or ignorant for refusing to sell their players, no matter how much we offer, or how 'big' a club we are.

Coutinho signed a contract, he is owned by Liverpool, and they have every right to decline our offer. Just because we're Barcelona FC doesn't mean everyone should yield in front of us. It's this type of mentality that has got us into bad relations in the first place with other clubs.

Still, I don't know how to feel about these prices in reality.

Liverpool holds all the aces, just like Dortmund did, which is why we paid the ridiculous amount we did for Dembele. We'll just have to wait and if the board will chase Cou until the last day. Even 138m euros is crazy money for him. But him wanting out of that shitty club doesn't make it automatic that we sign him.

Barca board is stupid but Reds board is much worst.

Refusing more than 120-130 million for Coutinho is a total madness. Still more considering that the player wants to leave.

It's incredibile.

15 million pound for 5 years and a load of unachievable adds on like CL wins and ballon d'ors for a team clearly in decline. They wouldn't turn down 100 million in ready cash.

Why would they accept that when they couldn't even get Keita for 70 million? Any replacement they try and buy the price goes through the roof. They only need to look at Barca.

They don't need the money, they want signings and it's not a buyers market.

Then who is? Because Neymar is being replaced with Dembele but that still doesn't solve the problem Barcelona had before Neymar even left..

Even with Neymar and MSN we had no chance in the CL or la Liga over Real because of how bad the midfield is. Dembele is a downgrade on Neymar in the short term at least. Signing Coutinho and Dembele would have been an upgrade on just having Neymar.

One thing is sure, the idea of dembele + coutinho is definetely with the motives of adding fire power in attack + marketing perspective + some face saving. Surely our midfield is the weak link, and it reminds me of the madrids approach when they didn't had casemiero starting in week in week out. And they were vulnerable even with modric, kroos , james in the mid.

Even if we end up with coutinho + dembele, we need a midfielder.

currently, dembélé isn't half the player neymar is, we'll definitely need coutinho if we want to win something

With Neymar Barca were bang average last season and reliant on Messi just to be average.

Neymar leaving meant a replacement had to be found. To improve on last season a creative midfielder is needed. And Paulinho isn't it.

Says Barca are still optimistic with the arrival of Coutinho. He continues to be the main objective.
