First point, we don't need him or Bernardo Silva
We need a controlling CM with good defensive ability
Second point, they are both too expensive

So it's like buying Luis Suarez for 80 M and then play him as a DM because he has defensive workrate

Would surprise me if we really want to sign Coutinho. Balague's sources are pretty good, so either this is just paper selling or the tactics of the agents have worked.

@TomNewland08: If Coutinho was to leave Liverpool, could Isco replace him?

"Isco will stay at Real Madrid, he is going to get a new offer. There are more stories coming out that Barcelona want Coutinho and I think he might be willing to go, but Barcelona are not after him. It’s just moves the agents are making to try to convince Barcelona to move for him. But they do not want him."

Thats not crazy money. Its likely to be much higher. Liverpool has almost the same amount of revenue as Chelsea. They can demand basically whatever they want.

Real Madrid signed 16 year old Vicinius for 60m euros according to reports.

People cant expect that prices stay the same as the did 5 or 10 or 15 years ago. It doesnt work like that.

I don't know anything about Vicinius but if he is an elite talent ('new Neymar') then Real Madrid gambling on him is understandable as the rewards could be potentially great.

Coutinho is almost 25. A good player sure but also overhyped with his inconsistent displays ignored due to him scoring a worldy shot from 30 yards every 10 games or so. At that price I don't see why Barca would want to get involved.

Good job Barca board
Nice that we didn't fall for the hype of a player who will not fit here at all

I don't want him for that kind of money either. I wouldn't mind forking out close to 45m for him, but let's face it, he's never going to be sold for anything less than 75m euros. 10 goals and 6 assists this season, which is supposed to be one of his best seasons..just not good enough for the price, IMHO. He could be a great signing for other clubs, just can't see him adding the value we need.

The problem we have is that if we get Coutinho, we probably won't get the CM we need or the RB we really want. It's a compromise we have to make balancing the numbers. If we got our RB, CM, CB situations sorted out, and we got Coutinho on top of that, hell yeah that's great. Then we are talking about bolstering squad depth. But when your first 11 has such major flaws, it's really not viable to have him as our main signing this season.

LOl @ can't fit here crap.

There is a barca way but people just blow it out of proportion. If he comes here he will adapt and play well. He is a world class midfielder and we need him so badly right now. He is miles better than everyone in our midfield right now. I would prefer verratti over him but would take him in a heartbeat.

It is not a choice between the two and Mbappe wouldnt come with Suarez I dont think nor do Barca have that money to spend and not address other areas.

Sell Suarez.

The bottom line is Coutinho is overrated, not needed and not worth that kind of money.
