Find it funny how Liverpool made such a big deal of keeping coutinho and acting like they're a big club again, only to be shite and have to sell him anyway

It had little to do with that and more to do with the timing. Look at Dortmund...you really think they would have struggled this much if they still had Dembele? When you lose an important player that late in a window, it hurts your team.

Every club loses players, its the reality of 2017, unless you are that team in madrid.

It makes no sense for Liverpool to sell in the winter market. Coutinho performs very well (way better than Griezmann does) and their target (Lemar) is cup-tied. They have an easy opponent in the CL and once you are in the quarterfinals everything is possible (although I'm sure their defense is too weak to win it). The fight for the CL-spots will be tough too so they'll need one of their best players to secure another season with CL-football.

In worldcup-years prices tend to go up so they can get the same sum they could get now.

I don't think he would have made that much difference. Defensively they were all over the place.

No way Liverpool sells him this winter. Sure, their chances in CL are not great given how poorly their defense plays in quite a few of the games this year. However, Liverpool also has been having quite a few good days. If they put just 7 of these back to back in CL, that could win it.

Coutinho is worth waiting for until next summer, even if the price is high. He is the only major addition needed for next season, unless Dembele does poorly.

I have to laugh at the way a lot of Barca and Madrid fans think the rest of football exists just to supply their better players to them. Barca are starting to become like the circus in Madrid.

Except barca doesn't expect players to come to them, and neither do Real Madrid
it's the players that know they are wasting their careers in liverpool when they have outgrown that a team that's won nothing in how long now?

In cases with spurs/pool/arsenal they aren't winning anything so players get restless and easily tempted by teams with better chances.. that or cash in their careers for a big fat contract

those teams are tier 2 clubs, like sevilla and valencia.
they do the same to tier 3 clubs and so on so on... don't act like we're the only club that tempts players.

At least Barca will go after targets from different clubs every year, meanwhile Liverpool are at the point where they feel entitled to Southampton's best players every year.
