I find it hard to believe that Nike would get wind of our transfers...

The club would tell them. Nike after all have a marketing campaign they have to care of, as well as designing those ads and making shirt options available.

Adidas knew Pogba was going to Man Utd while it was being finalized, before Man Utd and Juventus finally confirmed it themselves. Every sponsor know when a player is coming and are informed before it's announced officially.

Now, they might have jumped the gun here. No one knows, but Nike, Adidas, Puma etc. definitely know beforehand when a transfer is closed.

Exactly. Nike should know about these things.

Why can't we just keep our mouths shut until the player is officially signed? Nike is our offical kit sponsor and we need to keep a direct line of communication on these sort of matters. BS like this happens every time, it's like we go out of our way to make it our mission to piss off other clubs and make negotiations harder on ourselves.

EDIT:

Turns out someone caught a detail of the URL before it was deleted.

It was supposed to be posted on the 1st of January 2018, but some idiot fucked up and it ended on the site today.

Barca don't have any control over what Nike does. The entire merchandising is outsourced to them through their website.

It looks like they fucked up as it was supposed to go up 1st January, but even then someone in their office might have been trigger happy..

I made a complete 180 on him. He’s been immense for Liverpool the past two months, he’s not the typical Barca player but he can add another dimension of o our team with his long shots, sort of like Paulinho has this year with his powerful runs from outside the box.

MD out with full propaganda after the Nike leak.

On the Nike website it said Coutinho's shirt was available for a limited time until the 6th and now MD comes out and says we're looking to wrap things up by the 5th.

Fake news has never been more obvious.

Fake news has never been more obvious.

Seems less and less fake if you ask me.

Just saw this as well:

This is a 'I am leaving alright' - post-match interview if I have ever seen one.
If Coutinho's reply didn't make it clear already, Chamberlaine's interruption got you covered.
