7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
I find this interesting because it possibly mean we'll have another Non-EU spot available with only Yerry Mina and Paulinho taking up two of the three available spots.

I hope someone asks that question during his presentation.

So he's scored 10+ goals every season for the last 4 seasons or so.

REally think he can up that number to ~20/season at Barca.

You know it's funny reading places like Redcafe on how they don't rate Coutinho as highly as he should be. I mean sure the whole United-Liverpool rivalry but even despite that no harm in ratiting some of the players they have instead of "Coutinho is good but not world class and Liverpool should be excited they got the money for him"

I mean seriously?
It's amazing that all these other pl team fans are mocking liverpool for selling a player that they insist isn't that great

they are in denial, stats alone (I don't mean goals&assists) he's easily the best player in the prem.

and the thing about coutinho is he's peaking. he was beasting it out for liver this season (last season too at the beggining and at the end as he was injured in the middle). and he's younger than the likes of kdb & hazard ect. I believe playing alongside messi & iniesta will make him even better as a footballer and will learn too much from them. the talent is here and he's gifted.

160M is still too much, but in a market in which mark henry is bought by 97m (iirc) and morata for 80m, then it's a bargain. the same apply for neymar because he's the most marketable player on the planet + the second best player in the world behind leo.

they are pretty anti-Barca lately but ive seen a few rating Coutinho, laughable someone could think hes not worldclass. i think most PL fans who hate liverpool are loving the meltdowns but theres a slight sadness in the PL losing a magical player

I wonder how Coutinho on the left, Messi in the middle and Dembele on the right would work. Cou and Dembele can switch sides during the match as they are capable of using both feet, but it would give Valverde more tactical options. If Suarez is supposed to play every game and Cou and Dembele of course have to play every game as well, he basically has to play almost the same 4-3-3 lineup all the time.

Wow! Coutinho is just the type of player Barca needed, I can hardly imagine adding someone who would fit better. He may well improve a lot, become a truly top player, playing with the caliber of players and style of play of his new team. This is the caliber of player needed to continue the legacy of the likes of Xavi and Iniesta (and Neymar).

Adding both Coutinho and Dembele now, and I think Arnaiz, I'd say the team now needs . . . , well, the team now has the players it needs. This current squad can win multiple trophies every year, clearly can be the best team in the world.

Coutinho will improve our team obviously. The price is insane though but what would you expect from our board?
Only question is how will we handle his and Iniesta's minutes this season. On one hand Coutinho needs to play basically every minute in the league because he is not able to play in CL but on the other hand too much rest will disrupt Iniesta's rhythm.
Valverde needs to find an useful way to rotate all guys.

I don't think he will be kicking as much from distance with Barca, so I doubt he reaches it. It would be insane for midfielder!
