7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

Coutinho should have stayed on. He was 1 of the few players who had the tools to unlock the bus. A few more blasts, the bus might have been unlocked.

Anyone thought about the possibility Getafe defended extremly well and maybe made it very difficult for a player who is still adapting?!

Since Coutinho came (and now Dembele also), we already had 3 world class defensive teams:
1. Alaves, with the best defense ever
2. Valencia, with the best defense ever
3. Getafe, with the best defense ever

Either teams suddenly magically started to play the best defense ever, or we ruined our chemistry and winning formula with Coutinho and Dembele.
People whined in autumn of 2017 how we are winning but how we play ugly.
Well, since these 2 came, we aren't either winning nor playing beautiful.

Currently, I would go back to EV's 442 with workhorses, let those guys do the job and then in 60th minute when it will be 1:0 or 2:0, we can give minutes to Cou and Dembele and give them a chance to adapt.
If we'll continue this way, with Coutinho and Dembele, we could lose our La Liga advantage quite soon.

Our last 3 La liga matches:
2:1 late win against Alaves
1:1 Espanyol
0:0 Getafe

What will happen when we'll actually face some good teams?...

Go back to our winning formula and play these 2 new guys in the last 30 minutes.
Since either way, we'll probably never find a formation where both Coutinho, Dembele (Messi and Suarez) will play and where we'll be winning matches like with EV's 442.

It’s not about Getafe or Espanyol it’s about 12 games in one month! What will happen when we face some good teams?!?! We trashed Real FFS!

Do you even watch La Liga? Who trashed Getafe this year? Name just ONE team?

We trashed Real without Coutinho and Dembele.

Thanks, my point exactly.

In THIS MOMENT, with Cou's and Dembele's current form and their level of adaptation to our team, do you think that any lineup with Coutinho and Dembele would be able to win against RM at Bernabue?
Highly unlikely.

You may reply: but we need to adapt them as soon as possible.
True.
We also need a league title.
And since La liga and team in whole is more important than 2 guys who may or may NEVER adapt, let's focus on winning La liga and integrate these guys slowly.
If they will click eventually, awesome.
If not, well, the world won't end.

To sum it up. If Dembele and Coutinho can’t score 10 goals and have 10 assists in first 10 games they are shit

Or even better if thay can’t be on Neymar level immediately kill them all!!! I can’t believe the number of idiots in this forum. Pathetic!
and i thought youtube comment section is worst. But i think not, people here are overreacting

The team was pretty shit in all those games. Team being shit doesn't help new players.

Against the good team such as Man city, PSG, Madrid on a good day, there will NOT be a parked bus to worry about. Barca's own 4-4-2 bus is not exactly easy to unlock.

what

i
say

he'll come good though, but only in the system i have been putting forward for 2 years now and we will give him a full year to adapt on or the other

No, he's never played as a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2 so he shouldn't be comfortable in that position.

In any case, I'm not worried. It took Modric like 6 months to get adjusted to the league and pace of the game in Spain. Was called for a flop after first half of the season along with Alex Song lol.

Well, one of them truly turned out to be a flop.

Only he is not playing that wide. 4-4-2 is just a closest description but in reality it is Alba who runs that left side and Coutinho is playing more inwardly than formation would suggest. So I do think it is his best or close to best position.
