We are not getting 100+ M for Coutinho. Selling him next season is a complete non sens and will be disastrous financialy speaking. We can just hope that he will improve and that Valverde will finally understand that Coutinho is an MF not a winger.

I would understand that when he looked like poor man Coutinho early in the season, not when he looks like a poor man Santiago Ezquerro
Could be he hates being in Spain and prefers England? may be, although it will be a 1st for someone to love City of Liverpool over Barcelona

Then it just gotta be the pressure. When he joined us mid-season Iniesta was still here. Then Iniesta left and he was expected to come up with the goods.

He wouldn't be the first high profile Barcelona player to fail due to being soft or not coping with the pressure and expectations here. If that's the case then nothing is going to change and I would rather sell him and improve other areas of the squad.

Imagine if we had spent that much money on someone like Harry Kane instead.

I was optimistic with him and he did look good when he got here and his WC was solid as well.

But he's a luxury player for a team like ours at this point. Just not anywhere near as flexible as we hoped.

I'll never accept his "decline" or "lose of form", he was simply too good last season, finishing was like top 3 in the world, literally no matter where he shoots from, which foot, how uncomfortable it is, he puts it perfectly on target. I will wait to see if he performs for Brazil to see if its EV depressing him.

Valverde was also depressing Dembele, but you don't see him sulking on the pitch and not bothering out there on the field showing a shocking level of effort.

That. And better not to speak about Malcom, who dragged him out of shit and what does he get? Fucking blisters on arse.

Maybe Dembele is actually underperforming compared to what he could be under a proper manager.

Maybe, for sure, but he is well beyond that threshold of acceptable level, whereas Coutinho is nowhere near. It is not EV that made Coutinho forget how to shoot and play simple passes, it is in Coutinho's very head; he is mentally fragile it seems. There is no fight in him whatsoever.

What fight is there in Rakitic? Suarez? Busquets? Roberto? Most players here are just in their comfort zone, their contracts are extended, they have Messi that carries them, they can't be bothered to take the responsibiltiy of being 1/11 of the reason that this team is the best in the world. There is clearly a horrible mismanagement of superstars, all of them are lifeless to me, I am sure Coutinho would "magically" get back in form if he got a kick in the ass by a proper manager.

Dembele had it much rougher than Coutinho by the Catalan media by a good margin.

It seemed like every inch of this guy was being examed under a microscope by the Catalan Media. What he did off the field, him being late for training, his performances and talking about how poisonous his entourage seems to be.

Yet despite all that Dembele managed to turn his situation around and showed a strong mentality on the field and in training going by some of the reports. While Coutinho the "Model Citizen" in the Catalan Media during Dembele's problems has pretty much hit rock bottom here.

So he has only 4 goals so far in La Liga in 23 games . That's 1 more goal than he had last season in the game when Barca played Levante.

No wonder his value dropped 52 mil eur on transfermarkt.

Unreal dissappointment.
