Would he really want to go? I know for some countries winning Olympic gold matters a lot, but it doesn't really matter all that much in Spanish football surely with World Cups and Euros in their trophy cabinet.

I can imagine the club will request he's withdrawn.

Olympics are once in a lifetime in that he can hang with other top athletes in other sports from all countries. I know Barca released Neymar in 2016, but he had to choose between that and the Copa Centennario. Pedri is already playing Euros so...

Unlikely gets to hang with anyone bar his team mates due to covid restrictions or even gets to go see other events.
