8 - Pedri

I like Frenkie, but the only player in our midfield we sorely miss when injured is Pedri. On top of that he scored 5 winning goals in the League

Defence+Pedri and (pains me to say) Dembele have been our MVPs this season. Well, and Lewy in the first games.

Sorry, not even close. In the World Cup he was abysmal. In CL non existent so far. How can he be the best player when he's a non-factor at the elite level so far?

He's very close to Gavi. A talented young player with amazing potential, that in time can become elite. But at the present, he's not that amazing as people believe, and the big games show it.

Let's see him back in the return leg of the Copa, and next season in CL, against the top teams.

Don't want to hate on him as he's still great considering his age, but... really not a great player yet past La Liga level. I'd say it's very likely he will get there in 2-3 years time.

Nonsense. He was among Spain best players in WC (with Rodri and Alba). Not a good world cup but not really terrible. Then you mention Dembele and De Jong. Neither did something in World Cup and UCL for Barca

Our best players this season over it's entirety so far, easily not even debatable.

After that it's
Lewa before the WC
De jong since he's been back in the team, people forget he was on the bench & play pretty meh when given the chance before the switch to 4 in Midfield.

Those are the top 6.

Add Christensen to that list as well, so that's 7th at most.

Pedri still number 1.

Nah FDJ was best midfielder when got back in team and been best mid this season.

Before it was switched to a four man midfield he was MOTM at DM when Busi was out, was MOTM at CM and was MOTM away to Osasuna when played DM/CM and CB really and produced best pass of season to win game.

Absolutely moronic to think that he was benched for a three man midflield of Busi, Gavi and Pedri really and thankfully Xavi has got past that.

Been best mid on the park the last twice Barca have beat Real also and was best mid on park when beat them last season also.

FDJ is Barcas best and most important player along with Pedri but others like MATS, Araujo etc have been class despite having flaws to their game at times. Christensen been class also.

FDJ was also better than Busi, Pedri and Gavi at the WC.

Pedri was good but Busi and Gavi in particular was utter shite bar that Costa Rica game where they played 442.

The team clearly misses Pedri as Gavi cant do his job whatsoever and Kessie is a massive drop off also but even then Pedri was worst mid on park v Man U before got injured and has like many had dips in games.

Pedri and FDJ are about the two Barca players that would get into any other team in the world.

Poll 90k fans at the camp nou any ransom Sunday, probably less than 5% has de jong as our best midfielder & better than freaking Araujo just to name one over the course of this season.

Been Barcas best mid in last three victories v Real and was best player in Barca team in the months leading up to that four man midfield change also.

He clearly was better than Pedri at WC.

Was Motm, scored and assisted in first few games then was good v Argentina. It was him v Enzo late on in that game.

Pedri was best of Spains 3 mids though and was a bit sad for him almost playing LB at some stages to let Alba bomb on.

Spain after the Costa Rica game struggled to get any midfield going at all really. Teams let them pass it to death in areas couldnt hurt them.

I would place Pedri as the best Barca player this season till now. He has been consistent through out the season, scores most points in Liga, progress the ball from deep, play final/through passes.

Followed by Stegen. Without his current form, i'm not sure the team can stay at 1st.

He was terrible at the World Cup, as was most of Spain NT which is basically Barca core. This should've been a lesson for the ones around here who inflate our Spanish players big time. They are very young, talented, but nowhere near elite players yet.

Pedri wasnt terrible he was Spains best mid and light years better than Gavi or Busi after the Costa Rica game.

Gavi looked like a kid that had won a competition ton play for his national team v Germany etc.. while Pedri was probably better than Kimmich and Spains best mid.

Frenkie has been named best midfielder in the Champions League back in 2019 if you go so far back . So, he wins.
