8 - Pedri

He was terrible at the World Cup, as was most of Spain NT which is basically Barca core. This should've been a lesson for the ones around here who inflate our Spanish players big time. They are very young, talented, but nowhere near elite players yet.

I don't know that he was bad in World Cup mean he isn't Barca best player this season.

Frenkie surely had the better world cup, but Pedri still has the Euro performance over him - not that it matters what they do for their national team.

For us it's Pedri>Frenkie>Gavi without a doubt.

Yes Pedris Euros was class.

I love Pedri but FDJ been better this season for me... both are levels ahead of Gavi and Kessie. Those two are closer to Roberto in midfield than FDJ or Pedri in terms of quality.

MATS been most important player overall though probably due to way Xavi is tryimg to see out games.

Frenkie has been named best midfielder in the Champions League back in 2019 if you go so far back . So, he wins.

Pedri was good in CL this year though despite results.

Best mid on park away to Inter and Bayern and probably home to Inter also.. at least until FDJ came on.

Pedri been one of best player on park away to PSG and Juve in CL also.

While he has been better than any Real mid in two of his last 3 games.

Players cant do it all themselves.. particularly when coaches making it harder for them.

With a proper DM there is not a better midfield in world than DM/FDJ/Pedri.

Of course Barca are not the same without Pedri...

No one argues otherwise.

Barca have struggled in plenty games this season with Pedri also though and not dominated midfield for 90 mins.

Pointing to Man Utd loss when Pedr has started v Frankfurt, Bayern and Inter when couldnt win and was probably worst player on park v Man Utd before injury.

I wonder if he would be a better player than he is now if he plays under Arteta or Pep. He is like perfect fit for Arsenal or City.

Of course Pedri is missed but it also plays a part when large chunks of when he was missing last season was when club were a shambles and had others like Dembele out, Koeman was dead in job and have front lines of LDJ, Abde, Jutgla etc.

Same as this season. Out same time as Dembele and others.

Of those stats he is the player that will make one of the biggest differences no doubt. Would be him and Dembele and been out a lot together past couple seasons.

Also helps when play every game that Messi was still at club in his first season to boost how team performs with him in it. Those stats will show as if that was all on Pedri and igore Messi etc impact.

Likes of Gavi, Kessie and Roberto are huge drop offs from job Pedri does... FDJ better than all three but not as good as Pedri higher up but then you have issue of Robert, Gavi and Kessie not being able to do what FDJ does deeper either if move him.

Dembele and Pedri are Barcas two most important players in final third and one/both being out makes a big difference but even outwith that it is nowhere near as simple as comparing stats solely with Pedri in and out of team. When 40/50 of those games he plays Messi is still at club and months when he misses is worst time for club and quality of players in years last season.

You couldn't imagine a better coach than xavi for a player like Pedri, but here we are.

Xavi helps improving players for sure but i feel Pedri's improvement is just natural. He is getting older so he is better than before, rather than Xavi's coaching.
