TBH, he had acres of space and 0 pressure. But still used his amazing skill and ability to control the midfield completely by himself. What a player.

Pedri in CM with space is probably the best CM in the world.

So, Flick's priority should be creating space for him in the middle in games, where the opponent isn't as passive as Brest was yesterday.

Unfortunately, in those matches it is also up to him to be in the sharpest physical form possible.

Was brilliant yesterday. I have criticised him before but credit where it's due.

Gravenberch has been better this season. He's been the best deep lying midfielder(DM/CM) in the world this season.

The square as I like to call it [Cubarsi-Inigo/Casado-Pedri] clearly works better when Pedri is down deep. I can see the idea of pushing Pedri up the pitch in the hole behind the front line but we lose a lot when he's pushed further up as he's just not that free flowing #10 kinda player.

His best position is undoubtedly the guy who plays deep like Xavi and helps control the tempo.
