I'm more concern about his mental development. Club want him to be a leader, someone you can build the team around. But given current Pedri's strenght and weakness, he isn't that player yet.

Like kingleo said above, 3-4 years yet he has't really progressed much, especially in term of style of play and mentality.

Xavi tried and asked him to be the game changer, but it failed.

To get the best out of Pedri need energy/physicality around him in midfield and a front line with pace that can run away from ball with options.

Barca have not been signing either really in last couple years.

As much as like Gundogan and Gavi... not sure any of those three as a pair blend to a top CM/AM pair. It needs to be FDJ and one other with a DM behind them really. Which then raises questions if makes sense financially to have all three.

Yeah, we need speedy players immensely. Think Roque will be good target man for likes of Pedri and DeJong. Neither of our current attackers are good at running on the path of throughballs. Raph is fast, but dumb and clumsy and he's shit at being a true wingman. Also, need muscle and pace in DM, which would elevate the entire team, even under Xavis incompetent tutelage.

By fuck would love to see Pedri with a statting front line with pace.

Pedri at AM dont think will get the 25/30 goal contributions would want from top AM but he can be used to open up game and space for a front line that can take advantage of it.

'Proper' DM, Frenkie jack of all trades and Pedri AM would be as good as any midfield going. Techincally the best.

Shown his class in many situations. Absolutely unphased by challenges mostly. Unfortunately it's true that many say, that he lacks aggression as an attacking player. He prefers to "weasel" out of difficult situations and then give decent forward pass, but never asks for ball and tries to conduct the attack, which he should given his skills.

That's why i hope Xavi continue to use him as a 10. That should change his timidity.

Looked surprisingly lax, daring on the ball and very comfortable. The skills reminded me of his away game v Juventus.

And yeah hopefully injury woes are gone. With his injury history I would absolutely not start him on Sunday. Sub on at 60th or so again. Then either rest him fully or give him 20 minutes against Salamanca.

He will be even better when Barca get pace/movement up top.

A bit like Zidane in that he most likely will never be some stats monster but has the little moments that will open games up and create space for others by beating opposition when over commit.

At moment for Barca he can do that... but lack the pace and movement to take advantage of space he has created.

There isnt a team in world that has more technical ability in a midfield three than Pedri. FDJ and Gundo but there needs to defensive and attacking balance to get most out of them.
