Obviously the Dutch league doesn't have the same quality defenses, but generally you can accept that a player who scores that amount of goals is a pretty good finisher. If he gets chances (which he would at Barca) you'd think he'd chip with a fair few goals. The issue is normally whether his movement etc is clever enough for a stronger league.

We've seen numerous prolific goal scorers in the Dutch league move to a stronger league and havn't had the same impact Kuyt,Huntelaar,etc, but that is to be expected. I don't know how this guy will do, trial and error I guess, seems talented enough.

It's a bit of a shame, beacause he's been in great form and showing promising talent but i think he's actually lost interest in us now.

Hit or miss... But if he clicks it's gonna be one major capture. So it's definitely debatable if we could risk the 25million or whatever he's gonna cost!! But I have trust in Guardiola and moreover he's not exactly a poacher kinda player, so he's not as risky as Huntelaar or people make him out to be!! Moreover, IF he doesn't do good on wings he can always be played as the striker to back up Ibra!!

You mention about a defender when we are talking about a striker!!

Consider the other major signing we did!! When you pay 15million for a player who hasn't yet played in Europe, hasn't yet been called up for NT & who doesn't understand the language... you could as well pay 25 million for a player doing consistently well for 4 years in Europe(not only in the league but also on the cup stage), does well for his NT and has no language barrier!! To think he's bagging goals for Uruguay at a much higher pace than Diego Forlan himself!!

Just imagine for what kind of league actually we're talking about, where a striker is scoring seven goals in one game and after that he flops in a team from the bottom of the EPL

But yeah, of course. We give millions for nothing every summer, why not for Suarez. The club won't stop to exist if we splash away another 25 millions for a player, who has actually never played in a really competitive league in his life so far.

Scored 4 goals for Uruguay this season(1 being in friendly and the rest in qualifiers)
Has 6 goals and 2 assists in Europa League
5 goals and 2 assists in the last years UEFA cup

You seem to be missing another point here... He outscored the next highest goal scorer in their league by 9 goals. The next highest goal scorer in his team is at 9 compared to his 26 in the league. True it's a shitty league, but you have to acknowledge the clear difference in quality between him and the rest!!
