Yeah, Suarez is quite an upgrade on Maxi, that's for sure. And Meireles has been excellent lately, so I wouldn't drop him into the double pivot just to play Suarez as a second striker.

Pato's class...but you still wouldn't have a hold-up player....but he's lightning quick and an excellent finisher, so he'd do a good job for sure. He'd be quite expensive, though, so there wouldn't be much of a point in selling Torres just to spend the money you earned on Pato.

I'd rather spend the torres money than just leave it in the bank :D

Lukaku or Carroll maybe?

Yeah, but not keeping anything of the Torres money would make the sale stupid: Torres is the best option who Liverpool can use upfront. You wouldn't be able to get a striker of equal quality. I can't see someone like Pato going to Liverpool.

Lukaku would be quite young, but he has all the qualities (or at least the potential) to be an excellent striker in a 4-4-1-1. I haven't seen much of Carroll, so I can't judge him. But he's a striker who needs crosses, if I'm not mistaken, and I can't see Suarez, Kuyt, Johnson (as a left back, that is) or Kelly sending in crosses all the time. With inside wingers, a typical heading specialist probably wouldn't be used to the full. Or has Carroll got more to his game than just heading?

Well Carroll is still unproven and quite raw as a player, same goes for Lukaku. So I suppose our decision will be do we want a proven player to replace torres or do we want someone who isn't at that level yet but has the potential to be, whilst forging a partnership with Suarez?

People with faces like that ARE fuckwits. He has 'a very funny retardation in the head...'

Then he will fit like a glove in Liverpool. Will join Kuyt, Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Kyriagos, Shelvey etc.

Career suicide nevertheless.

Maybe Lisandro López could be a good option too...he's quick, strong and lethal in front of goal. Plus, he works hard. He, too, would be very expensive, though, I guess about 30 million or so. I haven't seen that much of López, but he seems class to me.

And I can't see the new owners choosing a raw diamond now..I mean, they're new, so they will probably rate instant success above potential at the moment.

Suarez will replace Torres' pace, that's not a problem. It's the strength you will be missing.

Sexy Lopez perhaps? :D
