We do not need another superstar striker if our defense is set. Parked buses are hard to break for every team no matter what. You have to have a creative midfield (which he do have), patience (we always show that) and a good match plan (which Lucho should provide). But being vulnerable at set pieces kills you vs these teams.
So scout defenders that suit and improve us and try to sign them. But leave the attack as it is.
Considering "normal" games where both teams actually want to win Iniesta, Leo, Neymar, Alexis, Pedro, Deu etc. are more than enough. Plus our attacking fullbacks.

What do you want? A 2nd coming of the Galacticos? Of course Suarez, Higuain, Cuadrado and many other are great and could fit Barca. But there is absolutely no reason to spend a ton of cash for these players.
The board is stupid and do bad deals but they will not spend money as if they could print it. 90 mil. for Suarez? Fine. 50 for Higuain? Fine.

Sometimes it hurts to see what fans who seem to love this club expect.
I never said that we don't need CB-s. I said that we don't need 60 Mil worth CB-s which by the way will put us in Galacticos a la RM. All I'm saying the front line players usually more expensive and after all Lucho wants pure striker and apparently he wants decent quality. Are you saying board should not give him players he wants? About how much Barca can afford: you haven't seen their balance sheet or financial statements, there's no way you can know who they can afford.

It is not about what the club can afford. In theory the club could maybe spend 300 mil. but that would make no sense.
You need to improve your team and make the right adjustments when you want to win trophies. But it is wrong to reach out for the biggest names.
I want the board to buy a world class CB, if one is affordable. If not stick with Bartra, buy cheap, known and solid players and create a system in which the defense is protected.

I mean look at our strikers. The biggest stars at this world cup so far are our guys. Neymar carries his nation, Leo does the same and Alexis bossed Spain. And we need Suarez, Higuain, Agüero or Cuadrado?

To be the best you need to be one unit and one or two players have to provide the spark. The moments only geniuses can create. Too much stars mean too much trouble.

We do need a mobile striker. And Suarez is the best in the business for that. But we also need another midfielder and a couple centerbacks. And we need those more than we need a striker.
If our transfer budget is 120m as mentioned then it should be plenty. The money from Cesc should cover the fees for Rakitic & Bravo, and if we can sell Song for 10-15 then that should cover Mats fee. So we're left with our original 120.

If we get Suarez for 40m+Alexis and exercise Laporte's 42m buyout clause then that should leave us with ~40m to spend on a CM & RB (if Alves leaves). I don't think that we'll buy another CM this season though. Our best 3 options are: Torres, Koke & Gundogan. Torres is too young, Koke doesn't want to leave and Gundogan hasn't recovered yet. Personally I would prefer if we bought Gundogan this season, but I wouldn't mind waiting another season to see how he & Torres progress. So we should have plenty of cash to buy a RB should Alves leave, which would mean another 10-15m. In fact if we can get Gundogan for 25-30 & a RB for 25 then we would able to do both.

I suppose you're right. I was saying, more or less, that I wouldn't want our pursuit of Suarez harming our chances of getting our other transfer needs filled.

I don't disagree with you, we have good and talented players, however if our coach says he wants striker he should get one. If he wants to sell Alexis and buy Cuadrado, I'm ok with that because it's his team and he is calling the shots. All I care about: it's Lucho's choice and not Barto's . So if Lucho wants Suarez and our board can deliver it: I'm cool with it. After all, he's the pro and I never trained even kindergarten team.

This Suarez rumour seems to have more than just smoke.

Uruguay radio are reporting a 45m + Alexis deal to be confirmed after the world cup.

If it is something like above it is probably the best deal for both parties. By all the news coming out, it is legit that Suarez has a preference for Barcelona which makes any Real Madrid pricedriving obsolete.

From what I understand, the Real Madrid interest in the start has always been about driving up the fee for Barcelona.

Let's just understand 1 thing. People buy tickets and watch the games for spectacular goals. That's why the club management always looking out for prolific players who can score goals. Just remember last year when had Nou Camp half empty. That would scare the crap out of the management for any club. That's why they are trying to pay the high bucks to goal scorers but not interested to splash on CB-s. I 100% agree that we need good CB, but paying 60 Mil for Benatia or Laporte not making sense. Let's not forget that Pep won the UCL with Pique and Mascherano. Also, Real Madrid bought Varane under 10 Mil and he's doing great job there.

Florentino Pérez is that you?
Come on man, fans come to watch beautiful football and see their team wins ,fans hate to see their team concedes easy goals like we do ,we need a better transfer plan tbh

Luis Suarez

Is this the first credible source (Sunday Times) to echo this transfer saga. ?

Duncan Castles writes: “Luis Suarez will shock Liverpool in the summer by insisting he wants to leave Anfield for a new career in Spain. Real Madrid and Barcelona have approached England’s Footballer of the Year and are ready to meet a release clause understood to be £67.9m.” his preference is Barcelona .

27 year old, Max 3 year in him. One hell of a player but only welcomed if alexis is staying.

3 years ?

He's practically bomb proof and doesn't get many injuries and he's not reliant on his speed at all so I an see him being around for another 6-7 years at the very top .

Croatian portals are saying that he is coming to Barca? I'm not so crazy about him, but would be good addition to the team.
Apparently, he "thirst" for Barca.

In pure footballing terms he would be perfect for our frontline. I'd be really worried about ego clashes between Neymar Messi and Suarez though. They'd all become frustrated if they didn't get the ball and Suarez especially wouldn't be afraid to have a go at someone on the pitch. Suarez wouldn't want to sacrifice himself for Messi, especially if Messi was allowed to walk around as he does these days. I can't imagine them getting on well together at all.

Potentially awesome as well though.
