I would say Suarez is better technically than Penaldo, better dribbler, passer, finisher, free kick taker, biter, the list goes on.

Liverpool are holding out for 95M fee for Suarez but Barcelona hope to make payment in stages, with part based on performances. [daily mail]

we're not 'holding out'. £75m (94m euro) is agreed. just a matter of barca paying full money on a transfer for the first time in ever

maybe liverpool are trying to discourage barca

ps: thw 'we' and 'you' and 'us' is really hard on this transfer.

I think something which hasn't been mention is his 'poacher' instinct. Even though he is a creative player, and does so much outside the area. In the area, he is so quick to those loose balls and takes them. This is what we have been missing, and I think is one of the main things that Alexis lacks, as great a player as he is.

Rafael Hernández: 'Luis Suárez will be announced as a Barcelona player (€79m) when the club finalises a deal with Arsenal for Alexis Sánchez (around €40m).'

He says 79m. I'm relly curious how this ends up.

- Spanish medias will claim 75-79M euros
- English medias will claim 95M euros.
- And maybe in a few months time somebody in england will release a proof of the price.

I expect the same circus of retards as what happened with Bale.

Given what happened with Bale, my personal opinion will be to trust english sources till proven wrong tho.

i'm sure its a mess up in the euro to pound confussion.

his clause was reported as £75m (94m euro) as far back as december when he signed his new contract. dunno where the spanish papers are coming up with 75m euros from.

there was a similar thing with david luiz's value and and its happening with markovic as well (some papers reporting £25, its £20m (25m euro).

How are you so sure they'll hang on to his release clause?

In my case I believe the fee will be clause to the £80M release clause because it was stated by two of the main french journalists that cover the EPL and that talk directly to english clubs sources. So far they always delivered. One of them is Philippe Auclair.

They think that because the personal deal between Liverpool and Suarez, from their sources, is as follow : Liverpool is forced to sell if a club reaches the release clause fee.

Also they noted that Liverpool owner has no intention to "lose" money on suarez compared to his release fee (which was also posted in english medias, I posted that news here).

It follows the same pattern as Bale transfer last year with spanish medias reporting lower fees.

But in the end, Bale did cost 100M+.

MARCA and AS reported 90m euros or so instead of the real price of a bit over 100m IIRC and that was for the sole reason of not admitting that he cost more than Cristiano.
