In Australian rugby apparently 1 player tried to strangle another player recently, got a 4-games ban for it ;)

Australian are amateur.

In France we had Chabal in 2013 doing that:

I have always found it funny that Rugby players has this reputation for being "gentlemen" because of their behaviour on the pitch, while footballer's have this reputation as hooligans. When in reality the stuff that the Rugby player's do on the pitch is way worse than what footballers do. I mean, eye-gouging is waaaaaaay to common in Rugby, as is punching when in scrum etc..

Agree. Rugby fans are very annoying. They always start some sort of competition on how their sport is the best sport etc.

Exactly! Atleast we football fans admit openly that football has it's fault, while Rugby fans seems to think it's sacrilege to think that Rugby has some fault.

My stepdad was like that, always saying that Rugby players are gentlemen. Then I started showing him the stuff that Rugby players do on the pitch, and he changed his mind...

Edit: I still remember the outcry from the Rugby fans when Harry Redknapp once mentioned that if the footballer's would do the stuff that Rugby player's do every week on the pitch, then everyone would want them to be jailed or something like that.

But to be fair lengthy bans are given which can range from usually range from 8 - 24 weeks. Also Rugby is a sport where tempers can easily flair for obvious reason.

Also they are gentlemen, have you seen how they respect the officials? They might be assholes to each other but I have huge respect for how they treat those in charge.

Anyway on topic.. I hope everyone here is smart enough to ignore the trolling we will get once Suarez is signed. People will say our reputation is ruined, mes que un club is dead etc. Don't pay any attention to these comments.

I'll be too busy beasting it up in FIFA to notice.

Aha, ok. So if I eye-gouge another player, finger an opponents asshole, bite their dick, punch them when the ref ain't looking, intentionally step on another players head, all of that is ok and I will still be a gentleman just as long as I call the officials "sir"?

Yes, that's it in a nuthshell. They batter each other on the field and sometimes play dirty, but they treat the officals with the utmost respect and all is forgiven once the final whistle is blow and they applaud each other off the field. That's why people refer to them as gentlemen.

BLASPHEMY!
For anyone that hasn't transferred him to your Barca in FIFA yet DO IT :worthy:
Barcelona is such a beastly team with our new transfers. I can easily dismantle RM or Bayern these days, where I had to really work for it before.
Rocking
Neymar-Suarez-Messi
Rakitic-Busi-Iniesta
Alba-Pique-Marquinhos(better get him or someone better)-Alves
MATS

and if I feel im not making enough of an impact I switch to 4-2-3-1 and balance is restored
Suarez
Neymar-Messi-Pedro
Mach/Iniesta-Busi
Alba-Pique-Marquinhos-Alves
MATS

We are actually going to be a good team in FIFA 15 guys :D!!!!!!!
Now just announce the damn thing

last i checked, he had not been transferred to barca yet, so not sure why you're all getting so excited. deals can fall apart anytime, for any number of reasons. wait until he has been presented before you start celebrating.

really? were you there in camp nou offices when contract was signed. pretty impressive stuff!

There really is no need for your sarcasm. A huge range of sources are reporting Suarez to Barca as a done deal. The only thing left in dispute right now is the fee.

There's something like social media mate. And pretty much every source in England and Spain say it's done.

Contract has not been signed yet because there's the announcement first and then there's a meeting at the offices.

like i said, many deals fall apart at the last minute. if "sources" were to be believed, arsenal would have signed any number of players by now, including suarez last year. but i'll wait until something pops up on fcbarcelona.com before getting excited. i recommend everyone else does the same. for all you know, psg might come up with a 100m offer tomorrow and everything is up in flames.
